We hacked the radio in our 2000 Mazda Miata to add a Bluetooth Module that is hidden away and plays high quality sound. Get the Bluetooth adapter here: amzn.to/2z8OlYy

If you're unlucky enough to have a OEM radio that had the both CD/cassette combined in the main unit this is still somewhat possible. Most vehicles had kits that you could tap into the external CD changer if it supported it, however finding them for each specific vehicle is becoming harder and harder as the years go by

Great vid. My only suggestion would have been to fit the switch inside the cassette player so you can just lift the flap and hit it. But fantastic job overall

$ 50 and you've got a new Sony with BT and phone support.

My thoughts exactly. Also, that blue tooth switch doesn't look very reliable. Looks like cheap plastic that will break after X number of uses.

Unsolder the wire and add the heatshrink. My OCD would keep me up at night if I did that!! lol

What if I only got 4 wires for the speaker , and one power and one ground wire ?

So I put in an aftermarket radio in my name Miata. It has RCA connections for aux. Is the a way I can hook up the RCA connectors and hook the Bluetooth module to the aux? That way I wouldn't have to open the radio and solder anything on it. Is that possible?

Do you have any specific ideas how to add Bluetooth to a 2001 Land Rover Discovery 2? Cassette player is in the radio box, CD changer is on a separate wire harness. There is no auxiliary input.

i want to do this and my car has bluetooth so people other then me can play music if they want and i dont have to go through a 10min setup thing while the car is parked because "safty" because never in the history of cars has a passenger ever used the radio..

Can you do this for a CD player instead of the cassette player

any suggestions on integrating this into a Nissan Bose unit? i dont have the seperate wire, it is all contained inside the doube din unit. i have taken it apart and saw the board labeled L+ L-, R+ R- for the CD function. not sure how to integrate a switch in order to make the unit think there is a CD playing. Maybe i will burn a CD of silence and run it on repeat. thanks.

I want to try I hate not having Bluetooth in my MX5

Follow this exactly, but I can’t get the Bluetooth to turn on? My radio doesn’t say “line” and when I press the aux button (I have a 97), it doesn’t do anything. Thoughts?

Hi. I know its an old video and you might not using this anymore, but is this particular one have that annoying woman saying “bluetooth mode” and “connected a succesfully” lines? Or just connects without a sound?

Was there a reason you didn’t just take power from the harness? Why did you have to go find a different power wire?
@BoziTatarevic16 жыл бұрын
The module gets power from the head unit harness. The wires that we ran out were for the switch which tells the head unit to swap from radio to external output.
@oSTYNCLSYo4 жыл бұрын
Lol, honestly should just put a bluetooth headunit in.
@beezowdoodoozoppitybopbopb94883 жыл бұрын
If you prefer the aesthetics of a stock head unit this is a good option.
@reddragoonmx6 жыл бұрын
Why dont you go off of switched power?
@BoziTatarevic16 жыл бұрын
It is on switched power. The switch is used to swap between the inputs going into the head unit.

Hello I bought one of these, I connected the red and black wires to the cigar lighter, and the plug that goes behind the radio. but sounds like static, what could It be?
@cristorres39604 жыл бұрын
You could try twisting the signal wires, its a simple way to eliminate EMI. Also you may want to find a new ground, that often time helps as well.
@renedelafuente1236 жыл бұрын
So now you don't have cassette or cd capabilities, correct?
@s996146 жыл бұрын
I would think so.
@WildBoys694205 жыл бұрын
Everything will function as normal depending how he rigged up the switch it might need to be on to play a cassette basically all he did was tap into the wire that senses a tape trying to be played soo it switches to "line" on the stereo

Why make it so complicated?! Just get a Bluetooth cassette adapter!! 🤦♂️🤷♂️
@orangecounty71444 жыл бұрын
You mean an auxiliary cassette tape adapter that lets you plug anything with the 3.5mm jack, including BT. Then there's gonna be a cable coming out of the tape deck. Now a days, you can buy an aftermarket Bluetooth radio for the same price as the tape adapter, $20 at Fry's electronics, but that's not the point, most of us are DIYers
