Wrong, you directly give input to amplifier IC, so all Volume and Tone controls are bypassed, you should use AUX input point or tape Head preamplifier output point to give the output of Bluetooth module, in that case all controls would work,

Also there will be cross-over when you play BT-audio and FM-radio simultaneously. There might be no Aux-input, that kind of head-unit, then the only solution is finding tape-deck output which is shown at 0:52.

Good job, but I usually put the capacitors at 7805 as indicated in the datasheet, if it oscillates it can burn the Bluetooth module. You could also enter through the preamplifier if possible, the idea of entering directly into the output amplifier caught my attention. @@facuigua12 sé de electrónica y lo que dije es algo básico que me llamó la atención. De todas maneras utilicé un par de esos y con uno tenía ese problema, luego compré otro y aparece en el teléfono como "btcar-kit". Ese se conecta solo, hay que tener en cuenta que luego de un tiempo el dispositivo no vuelve a intentar reconectar. Si la alimentación es permanente no lo hará, si está encendido el BT en el teléfono y luego enciendes el del auto, en ese momento intentará la conexión. Debería aparecer con un nombre de dispositivo y la primera vez debe ser autorizado en el teléfono, y luego debe permanecer en la lista de dispositivos encontrados.

@@facuigua12 si, no queda mucho por hacer excepto probar con otro teléfono para descartar que no sea un problema del teléfono. Si con otro teléfono se conecta bien, entonces podrías intentar reiniciar la conexión de bluetooth y wifi en tu teléfono. Sino lo siguiente sería una restauración del teléfono a valores de fábrica, pero sabemos que eso siempre es lo último que nos conviene hacer, porque se borra todo. Espero que lo soluciones.

The concept is the same though. You hijack the tape head lines, feed your bluetooth module into it, works on literally any cassette player, and you don't get degraded audio through the tape head like with an AUX cassette. I did this exact thing in my 03 Silverado. Saved hundreds vs going aftermarket.

This was fun. I’m not sure I like the idea of running the cassette deck constantly, just to use the Bluetooth phone connection, though. Also, the main reason for wanting Bluetooth on the car radio is to use the hands free call answering capabilities. But this appears to have no audio input for the device to connect to a microphone. Further, as others have pointed out, you still have to adjust volume on the phone, which is a big Nono, in this age of penalty points for mobile phone usage. So yes, it’s a great starting point, to show what’s possible, but it needs a good bit of tweaking, to make it actually useful.

Very good friend, but I think the only thing missing was to take advantage of the device's original volume and tone controls, so you can leave a pre-defined volume on your smartphone and control the volume on the device itself when you are driving the vehicle, as it is more practical, and also using the pre-amplifier itself to equalize better. I did this on a 1988 Bosch-Blaupunkt car radio for a client of mine.

Before anyone rips apart old radios to butcher them, check to see if they are valuble first. Some oldies are worth more than a fully equipped new radio. And you definately need to find the input into the audio processing circuitry I did this once to add an aux input to a radio that only had cd input. Worked well.

its easy if the unit has a cassette or analog radio and i also done that from the past but what of its digital Fm /cd radio with no Aux and the cd ribbon connector has no marking for input/output, if i direct it to the main amp input it will sound but i will not be able to. use the volume, and other function

@@JarerSaro your joking right? :-) there thing the almost all connect the 12volt/24volt power socket / cigarette/cigar lighter, most now have USB options charge mobile, or plug Drive in them, play music data file, then Bluetooth part you Bluetooth a connect to the device to you 12volt socket, and find what FM radio station transmitting on and tune car radio to station, job done! :-) you may more transmitted station if it's already being used by your local radio station? most are really low power radio output, if un sure not breaking law where you are?

If you have a cassette player, try to trace the input from that, if you have XM radio, try to tie it in through that. these methods leave the stock radio functions in tact.

I would think it is the same process just tap into the cd circuit. Unfortunately I live where we have 90 days of summer to get everything done and then winter can hit so this will be a keep me sane during the winter project. Thanks again.

There are some cars which have no bluetooth inputs but do have an "aux" input. Mine is one of them. I got myself a bluetooth receiver/transmitter which has a built-in battery. Whether it works in transmit mode or receive mode depends on which of the two stereo 3.5mm jacks you plug into. Plug the audio cord into the "receive" jack and the other end into the AUX jack on the car, then attach the charging lead via a 5V converter plugged into the 12V lighter socket. Bingo. I now have bluetooth.

The AUX input is part of the centre divider and is right between the seats. There's also a 12V outlet close by. The result is that all of the cables are out of my way.

Just disconnect the AM-part of the tuner and use it as AUX-input and you will have full functionality of the car stereo. I did that a lot many years ago to connect discmans and CD-changers with standalone control.

That seems more usefull for modern radio/cd car sets, AM band nowadays is useless as no radio stations broadcast on this band (at least in my country). So, you get an extra AUX-input & full audio control (volume-balance-equalizer), you only have to find where the AM-part of the tuner is...

I tried similar. I connected a BT module direct to the speaker outputs on my car radio. It worked but the radio played over the BT music signal. I couldn't figure out how to get a silent signal so I could only hear the BT music. The empty cassette is a great idea and now my setup works. Thanks! The only issue is the volume is a bit strange. I can only control volume via the volume on my BT connected device.

For this very old cassette players, the best solution is the adapter cassette

You can do it with a bluetooth + FM transmitter Marketing as Carg7. No need to dismantle the unit. Carg7 work in 12v (can be used in cig lighter socket). The bluetooth receives signals and transmit it ss FM signal which can be played as FM station within the vehicle. You can set own station/meter which do not interfere with any local station. Set up is described in leaflet along with the device. This costs around rs.400/-. You can do it on any FM radio.

Not sure if I like feeding the module directly into the amp IC with no volume control, powering it up to be greeted by an ear shattering 'Your blutooth is ready' is not good. Also, the 7805 regulator should have 1uf bypass caps on the input and output, also ideally don't grab the DC from the very input but after the input filters often present after the input socket. Some audio detailing your selections would be really handy.

you should've done what i did with my kenwood, i used the power from radio module, and fed the audio out from the bt module to the audio in of the amp which the radio module was given to, and used the radio module's out to aux input of the bt module, so that we can control the cd, bt, and radio with the Stereo front interface, so that we can use the EQ of the audio and volume button

Hello, instead of putting in a cassette you can remove the connection as if it were to adapt auxiliary input from the head and you don't have to carry around with an empty cassette.
