I was under the impression that you could only do this with acrylic gems, but I am amazed you can do this with glass chips! Thank you for this tip! 😀

You just taught me something too! I never thought about doing this with acrylic gems!

And what are you going to do with these dyed pieces of glass? I do glass fusing. Can these pieces be used in that application (fusing). Will you glue the pieces to something else like a mirror frame or glassware? The technique is wonderful, but what are the applications of the dyed material?

Hi! I'm not sure about using them for glass fusing, but for myself I use them in some of my other crafts (mainly resin geode type pieces). These yellow ones I specifically used for a more colorful geode piece that I made about a year ago!

That's very interesting. Could it work on crushed clear beer glass bottles as well? I don't drink but I have friends and my adult son that save them for me in all colors including clear. - Heidi

Hi Heidi! I think that could work! The crushed glass I have been dying is just mirror fragments so a clear crushed bottle should work too!

Blue would be nice or green or black I wonder would food colouring work

I've never tried food coloring but that sounds fun to try!

I saw a video that the gel would run with resin. How did it work out for you?
@VivezbienCreations Жыл бұрын
I didn't notice any color run, but I also only used the glass in a resin geode style piece weeks after I dyed it, so that could play a part in why my experience was different!

Can we do it with acrylic inks also?
@VivezbienCreations10 ай бұрын
I just dropped some acrylic ink in some glass to see what happens! So far it looks good. Just waiting for it to dry, then I'll try to see how it works in a project!

The acrylic ink seems to work so far. It takes longer to dry (probably due to there being no alcohol to aid the drying process). Since it's been a few weeks I feel more confident about using the glass in resin now and plan to do so this weekend!

Thanks to let me know! I’ll try it!

Update again, lol. I used the glass that I dyed with ink and had no issues with bleeding. I tested in a regular 2 part resin and in uv resin! I hope you have great results with your project!
