It made me chuckle as well. I have recently done a watercolour drawing of a rocky stack on the Isle of Skye. The whole picture is mainly muted browns and greys and it cried out for a little bright colour. I thought about putting a couple of rock climbers in brightly coloured lycra half way up it and did a quick google on a couple of climber's sites to see whether anyone had done it. The answer was that the rock was brittle, crumbly, very dangerous and a thoroughly unpleasant experience. So my picture of the Storr has no climbers on it.

I loved painting along with you on this one and really impressed my husband when I showed him the painting the next day. He said, "You did all that last night?" I learn so much from watching you. Now I'm not afraid of putting figures into my paintings. I did the rainy city street a couple of days ago. And of course, I love the humor you throw into your videos. Makes it all the more fun. That was a magic tutorial Paul. I have often painted something that I thought needed some 'life' in it but was terrified to attempt putting in figures in case I ruined my 'masterpiece'. I am genuinely going to do what you said and practice this over and over until it comes kind of naturally to me. The overall painting is really wonderful. Thank you so much.

What an excellent tutorial and beautiful painting! I need to add a figure to a coastal scene and didn’t know how to approach it in watercolor. This is so helpful for that and so much more.
