METHOD WITHOUT SHORTCUT KEYS For those asking for a more 'normal' way. You just need to Shift or Ctrl select multiple tracks and click on the FX button on any of them. Then from the FX window just right click any effect or effect chain and click add to selected tracks. No need to waste keyboard shortcuts or anything. The shortcut method was a little convoluted, but as always, the reaper devs had already thought of it. Hopefully this helps. and thank you Kenny for the amazing work you are doing.

I must not have ever tried to add an effect to multiple tracks at once but it seems to me that reaper should somehow give us that option from the fx window.

I just did it by selecting a bunch of tracks, going to the effects window for one of the tracks, selecting an effect, right clicking on the effect and selecting "Add to selected tracks". This worked. Maybe it's a new thing in a more recent version of Reaper than this video.

There is one very useful and not obvious thing with key shortcuts! If you try to create it, but press cancel without actually assigning anything, you still get this as an action in the Action list!! (Search for it by plugin name) So you may for example then create a button on the panel for adding a plugin... or whatever you want, just like you'd normally use actions.

Is there a way to add an fx without fx chain saved or the shortcut?
@anupjsebastian4 жыл бұрын
For non input fx right clicking any effect or effect chain gives an option to add it to multiple selected tracks, without having to assign any shortcuts or open the actions window. For input FX, there are 2 actions in the SWS extensions. Copy input FX chain from selected track, and paste input FX chain to selected tracks. That should help you. You don't need to assign a shortcut to any particular plugin, and can run it from the actions windows. This works on single effects as well. You don't need to have fx chains or shortcuts saved for both these methods.

Thank you for this. But I wish there was a way one could just create a new dedicated track, select one EQ there, and then have it apply to 10 or however many instrument tracks. With just one instance, you’d control everything, + save much CPU.
@REAPERMania3 жыл бұрын
You can. Track Folders. Put the EQ on the folder track and everything in that folder gets the EQ. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXi8ZYiPd8err68

@@REAPERMania Hello. I know, but say you wanted to use the same EQ over half of the instruments in the song, and couldn't have them all under the same parent folder (because it would be a mess).

Not at all the same use. Often times you want to add an EQ on all the tracks of the drums for instance, and you will end up EQ them individually, but you still want a default for each EQ. This saves you a few dozens of mouse clicks.
