This book is beautiful. I’m currently on holiday in Greek island, last here thirty years ago, pre children, and there were no mobile phones. Making me realised how blessed we are now to see and share the creativity across the globe. Looking forward to getting my hands on stabilo again at home to layer that black on white, it pops, so thankyou for that.

Love, love, love the fae finder theme! Such fun. Your car finder needs a fun butterfly net to catch them in. You had mentioned previously that the Matt medium you'd used was thin. I have found it depends on the brand. I'm using Windsor & Newton Galeria at present & it's rubbish!! Seriously, it needs tons just to keep stuff stuck down. I bought two so got to grin & bear it. Whereas, I have a Matt Gel Medium by Golden, it's awesome, had it ages, but it's so darn thick!!! I believe it can be thinner down. A lot of people in the UK tend to use cheap clear gesso over top of everything to stop stickiness. 😊❤❤ Edited to add, that should say fae finder needs a butterfly net. Stupid auto correct. 🤔

Ahhh this is so refreshing and fun. Glad I took time to watch it LorrieMarie as always it is inspiring to watch you work. I've been avoiding it as I felt like I needed to catch up with the actual book pages. This makes me want to rush to the table. I am slowly cranking the wheels inside my head to figure out what my book theme should look like. I guess once we establish that "vision" in our heads it is smoother sailing, at least it was when I did the Halloween book. The ideas just seemed to pop out from everywhere. Thank you! thank you! love your book. i did hear somebody say that when they used matte medium on their books instead of modge podge they never had the problem of their pages sticking to each other anymore. just passing that info along to ya. hugs

I acquired a bunch of board books years ago thinking someday I would figure out what to do with them. I’ve watched your videos and now have 4 of them in process with “underpants” and making backgrounds. I have no clue as to what to put in them! I’m thinking I will make each a different color theme and perhaps that will reveal to me what will be next. If you have advice about how to find a theme, please share?! I am enjoying getting to know you and learning from you. I started out 6 years ago making blank bound journals, then junk journals and now wanting to add more mixed media into my creations. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity and knowledge!

oh that pesky theme! lol....i love the circus theme...vintage people theme...vintage children especially....silhouetts, birds, butterflies, fish...i have a really hard time with the themes too....i did an entire book on Frida Khalo....that was really, really fun....i hope that some of these ideas spur other ideas for you karen.....good luck...and...go create, go play, go have fun!!!

I often put bird feet on humans, especially on Victorian ladies, but I love the way you made the lacy torso look like the whole body of the figure, rather like a big, fluffy owl body and it’s little feet poking out below.

LorriMarie Jenkins, I sincerely mean no disrespect. And I am sincere when I say I’m a big fan of your gorgeous artwork. I also believe you sincerely believe it is harmless fey symbology. And really, it’s not about me. I guess what I’m trying to convey is this: say for example you painted a beautiful rainbow with a thick black line across it. You felt compelled to express this color combination and and shared it to your group. Some people saw this and were very offended, and even hurt. Knowing you, you would be aghast at this response, because pitching anti-gay symbology is not only wrong, is not your MO. In fact, you cherish and support all people regardless of inclination. Now back to the goat-human fey. You expressed yourself in this whimsical book about fairies. Instead of a fairy though, it is a demon. Who cares right? Well, there is one person who does care greatly. In fact he is likely greatly offended. That person is your HP. Look at it this way, when we became sober, we had a choice, to either die an alcoholic or to live. One choice: good or bad. To deny the presence of dueling natures: good, bad, right, wrong, evil, Godly is a disservice to God. I’ve spent my whole life offending and not caring, unlike yourself I’m sure, but its time to start caring about what God thinks
