Also works with Daihatsu Terios j2xx. After 7 step and before 8 step, you should wait some time , 10-30 seconds, until immo light will be permanently red.

Hi there, Any idea if I only have 1 key and I don't know is it master or sub key. What is the best and simple way and cheaper way to copy & program a key? Thanks

Pop into your local locksmith - e.g. Timpson in IE / UK. They can clone the chip onto a new key. The Copen uses a 4C chip, so a static code that is easy to copy with the right tools. If your key is grey / gray in colour, it's a sub key. If it's black, it's a master key.

Nick G Hi Nick, thank you for your quick reply. Look I am in Sydney Australia and I just bought a Daihatsu cuore late model. The previous owner only have a copied key which he bought the car like that. Anyway thank you for your time. I will try work it out.

Simon Lee It shouldn't matter if the key is a copy - you can keep copying the key over and over again to make as many spares as you like. The only downside is you can't tell if the key is a master or sub key unless you go to a Toyota dealer (Toyota own most of Daihatsu). Master / Sub means bugger all provided the immo already has the transponder code programmed into it. For what it's worth, the Cuore uses the same chip as the Copen - a TI 4C - so getting spares made in a locksmith is not an issue :-)
