It was nice meeting you during the weekend! Glad you had a good time in our little town. :) (I’m the guy more worried about my broken model than my complete loss the first game.) :)

First of all. Thank you for all the content and the hard work. I Love you and the guys. A shout out from a youtube thug. So I litteraly just ran an narrative Path to Glory one day event called Feast of Glory In Copenhagen. It was my first time as a proper TO with people actually paying me money for hosting. Quite a few of the people attending was guys who usually goes to Match play events as well. Let me tell you mate, They had a fucking blast! I used limits on Named characters up to 300 points and included a one battleline minimum to the warband system. In hindsight, The path to glory system does feel a bit janky for a one day event and i will use your 1k limit system next time. However the point was made. "Competetive" players love a good story and a good meal as much as any narrative roleplaying gamer. I consider myself a narrative gamer first and a competetive tournament player second. But i do attend both kind of events and that extra spice you get from a story or a theme is just fun. I am really looking forward to testing out this Milarki system. Sounds just like the thing i need for my next event. Thank you for all the effort and time you put into this. Always makes my days a bit brighter! 🙂

My local GW is planning a tournament that allows Anvil of Apotheosis characters. This sounds like a fun blend of narrative and competitive. It has me busy converting an old Wurrzag and a 3d printed Squiggoth counts as for a Gargantuan creature riding priest for my Bonesplitterz. Frankly I am excited!

There’s just a huge difference between being asked “how did your tournament go” and you answering “decent, went 2-3” and answering “awesome, lost most games but we crushed those wimps of order on the altar of chaos and conquered the Fortress of Mirrors”!

They just had an event similar here in the States in New Mexico for 40k but it was a lot of fun. There was extra stuff involved like secret missions but at the core of it like you said just a lot of games to play over 3 days. They even had some awards for most infamous and one of the people from our LGS won an award cause he sacrificed his whole army apart from a warlord. As someone that isn't as heavily invested into the competitive side it was a really fun way to get people like myself invested into playing games. Hope there are more in the future.

Bob, I think this is a fantastic video. Love the idea. It's not hard work. There will always be someone in the hobby who would love to arrange this. And it involves more people in the challenge of winning. Also, another fantastic stat to record. Love your energy over this.

When I was running events at our FLGS, we ran a 'tournament' every months. I'd alternate between narrative focus for one, and then ITC tournament focus for the other. I had both 'types' of players play in each.. but there was an issue with some of the more narrative players bringing very tuned lists to games iwth players who just wanted to put their story models on the table. No big issues though. Back when I played Legend of the Five Rings, I loved that game because there were so many narrative events...and the narrative events had actual-story effects. There was one guy who won a tournament with a 'corrupted' card in his deck... and his faction got a reward for winning, but also ended up corrupted because of it. I thought htat was great

I really like narrative battles but the problem it will always have is that many players prefer a balanced mirror battle plan. Narrative is more about creative battle plans over balanced ones.

How do you balance if there's like 20 order, 25 chaos, 5 death and 7 destruction?

I'd argue that lost tourney players Aren't into the story. They vaguely know the lore, and will play the missions and can say "oh yeah we fought aqshy", but few actually have lore for their army, know lore outside of the armies they play more then what a wiki can tell them, and often make unfluffy lists just to win. They arent Bad, but I think you give them far to much credit in the narrative angle

Everytime I hear how many events are near you or that you are running. It makes me sad. We have 9 games stores and a club within 30km of where i live. And I have to scrape and jet all over the metro area to even manage a single game a week. Yet alone anything like a tournament or league.
