Adding Panels to my Solar Setup

The panels you installed previously are 450w i believe? You wont be able to find panels with same rating in the market and will have to opt for bigger panels (540-545w). If you install them in series with you current setup, the new higher wattage panels will be downgraded by the system to 450w. A work around is to use your new panels with a separate MPPT controller. Your inverter has the option of two MPPTs so you are good here.

I have learned a lot from your videos, specially regarding solar installation. I have recently installed mine… and I learned that your panel split (strings) should be equal on one inverter, and they should not be far from each other…. DC is very sensitive to resistance produced by long wire connection …. Uneven length of connecting wires was not optimal in my case and inverter was misreading it sometimes ….

Another approach could be to dedicate that extra 3kW for DC coupling, this can help you with more control of your system if you would want to upgrade to off-grid or add inverter/ charger batteries etc.

Check out the datasheet of your inverter. The company would have mentioned max pv input. Some allow additional 30% but some even permit additional 50%. Usually the additional input is clipped in on-grid system but with a hybrid system like yours that will go towards battery storage.

You are right about 30 percent can be increased but this is more useful in Europe as we do not have full capacity sun the aim is to increase the surface area to get maximum This is also used in Australia because they paid from Electric company on number of panels You should remember if you increase your panel you will not get more than 10 kv as thats your maximum pull of your two inverters You should check your data how much it is producing on average if you are getting maximum like close to 10kv then you should also invest in extra inverter or change inverter to higher kv Thats my in put

i wanted to buy Fronus 3.2 kw in 75000rs but i changed my decision because 2500watts panel already installed in my house with 3kv desi ups sqaure wave with mppt controller... Everyday i have to change fan dimmers capacity led lights...i fed up with these things...now i buy pure sine wave ups 4kw load capacity in 40000rs which is good to run inverter fridge 🥰 ... single wiring done on ups which is also the main culprit to buy this ups ... i am now running inverter fridge Washing machine(larger size) cloth dryer iron 7 fans 12 led lights mini water pump for water supply (100watt ) to deliver water on third floor

why not an e2e solution provider for solar panel solution if you are good at it , you may source the company for ur clients and just make it done (supervision)

Before embarking on changing your setup do confirm if nepra allows changes in net metering setups. What I have heard is that you can only increase or make changes in your setup through the vendor who installed your setup and also get approval for it from nepra.

I am not sure if you will be able to export more than 10kVA capacity (the load already approved by IESCO in your case). I heard Distribution companies like Mepco, IESCO, Lesco etc are handing down fines whoever is installing more plates/exporting more load than approved at the time of Net-metering. EME lahore is one such example

what kind of collaboration are you looking for, maybe I can be of help. I myself am fighting with a problem and that is that my installer assumed that we had 3phase, instead we didnt and problem is with the transformer for our street (yes, in islamabad). Ab main bhi baki becharay powerless pakistanion ki tarha system ki hathay char gya hon or meray pas power nahin k main transformer change karwa sakon. Ab sara system installed hai laikin running ni hai. Hai koi ALLAH ka banda jo koi solution day sakay?

What are you trying to achieve by adding new panels? Are you experiencing bottleneck in 10 KW solar system AND/OR are you trying to export more energy to the grid?

Yes, during winters 10kw is not sufficient for me since we use electric geysers (no sui gas at home)

I've got a couple questions if you can answer it all be greatly appreciated. I'm planning on buying inveter only, firstly I've got different sizes and capacities of solar panels. if i buy 3kw inverter can i use them all or do i have to buy same sizes and capacities of panels? secondly I've got one big panel and three small 250w i believe, is it going to be enough to just run the system atm? I'll keep adding more panels with time. thank you

When you make parallel connection to panels as a string then all the panels should have same ratings and capacity to connect with an mppt inverter input. If your inverter has dual or triple mppt input then two or three capacity panels can be connected.

Expanding an already installed system can be alot of pain, specially here in Pakistan. Vendors sell false dreams, even if someone who installed a system 2,3 years ago won't find same spec panels and it wouldn't fit with their installed inverters... Whole wiring and fusing needs ro be done from ground up again, as they size these things based on the system installed and give 0 consideration for upgradation in real terms...

you have 4 MPPTS, make 3 strings of 8 panels, so existing 24 panels will be divided to 3 MPPTs and they remain within the allowed voltage range. Use 4th MPPT for extension and add approximately 3KW of bifacial panels as your structure will be uplifted already so bifacial is obvious choice. Some info for your consumption that no one will tell you your one MPPT can make 3.2KW max Your inverter has 5.5KW cap (with battery charging upto 6.4 ) MPPT Voltage upper limit is 450 as per specs but 520V is absolute max for this inverter. Considering your panels VOC is about 50V don't exceed more than 9 panels in string. Put all this into equation and design accordingly. You can add more in future as well using a micro or ongrid inverter as this inverter supports AC coupling.

There is no way you can increase capacity of an inverter by software change. There are a lot or pre built stuff in inverter such as charge controller, PV controller, mother board etc. Stop giving wrong advise to people
