An a absolutely lovely little tank. I think there are a combination of factors that contribute to the success of this tank, the amount of dirt (and it looks like it's good dirt) seems like it's not excessive. I think adding sand allows good colonisation of filter bacteria and finally, I remember you doing a video of testing your tank water. Your water parameters are spot on for the plants. Really good stuff MD, keep it coming.

To tell a pea puffer's gender - if it's vibrant and round ( it's female) or it's brownish and streamlined (it's male). A 100% way to know is to wait for your puffer to go into the light and if has a black line on the belly, then it's male. Yours just happens to be a boy! Congratulations!

Have you ever experimented with microfauna? I am trying to set up a (nearly) self-sustaining tank, meaning only a few water changes a year and normal feedings for the fish. The tank will also not have a filter or CO2 similar to how you do many of your tanks. From what I have read this can be achieved with the addition of microfauna.

Hi MD. Just wanna tell u that I do have a pea puffer. Tried to keep shrimps with it. But he keeps eating them once they molt. But I’ve heard a few people have no problem keeping both in a tank. So yeah just giving u a heads up. ✌🏽 Oh yeah and it might be a female. Because it’s brightly colored. Usually males are darker. Or maybe it hasn’t matured yet haha
