I've wanted to do a few more videos on how to split down your sculpts and get them ready for 3D print for ages. This is the second in a series. The first one was 5 tips for 3D Printing kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGWThXxqgrV0ntU This one is all about scaling, splitting and adding registration keys. Do you 3D Print your models from Nomad Sculpt? What printer are you using?

Excellent. Most other videos I've watched have not mentioned scale and certainly not tolerances!

16:54 The voxel-remove "boolean" method is a real gem. I don't think I would have found it otherwise. Thanks!

No problem, I am glad it helped.

When I wrote to Mr. Ginier about the units of measure, whether we could select mm or inches, he couldn’t understand why it is relevant to know what the units of measure were. He said it didn’t matter. He said that was set up in the slicer, which is bonkers.

imagine they would add a connector feature like most slicers have... this would be a dream...

wonderful video! I'm definitely going to follow this! there are so many awesome tips here! I've got a miniature that I might try this on. i'll be sure to post it on the FB group if i can get it to work. or maybe ill post if i can't as well, haha. i cant wait to see how you split up the more difficult areas! thanks again, Glen! (also I also learned that I need to push my voxel merging to even higher numbers. i think ive been too scared to go over 800, but if i have it saved, why not experiment!!?

Great content as always!! I do have a question, do you know a way to fill a geometry entirely. I am importing an oversize T SHIRT done in marvelous design, and I am prepping the model in nomad for 3d printing, is there a way I can make this T-shirt model an entire solid mesh???

Been a lurker for a while, love the channel, but I have a question. What is the support/holder you are using for your iPad?
@robfrydryck1274 күн бұрын
For this particular model, would you need to separate the head into 3 parts? (upper head, lower jaw, and tongue? Or is the head good to go as is?

Are you able to add custom supports in nomad or no?

Can we just use the transform tool and enter 10 for the scale at the start rather using the grid to scale the model? Seems like that would be more precise and could also be used to scale the key to set tolerances. No, because Ginier’s coding doesn’t always allow such a straight-forward approach?
@SouthernGFX2 жыл бұрын
I didn’t use the grid I dialled in 10 units which is 10mm. And you are spot on for the re scaling. it’s much more accurate to use the units to change the size. I use it loads more in the next video. I mentioned about there dimensioning not being as good as something like Fusion or Rhino but I should have gone back and explained the numeric scaling! Thanks!

Would it not be easier to take the model into bambu studio? Does it do it with a cut feature? Mind you I’m asking ,I have NO practical experience.

Wish there was a simpler way to do this…..

Unfortunately I'm on my Android version phone and it'll let me stretch out the measuring thingy but it won't tell me how to fix the size or give me a place to input a number. The number just disappears when I click on it
