I have a TP link outside access point Do i set it up the same way or is the Pepwave Access point the only one I can use with my Pepwave Max BR1 mini Love the videos and all the help I get from the Nomadic Specialist.

Yes, you can integrate a different access point. You may want to reference your setup manual for the other AP as it should have generic router instructions that can work with the Peplink.

Will you be covering setting up the Transit connected to an external antenna and in Wi-Fi as WAN (AP off) mode adding the AP1 as an internal Access Point AP?

Thanks for the video…I just got the AP from you and set it up. Is there a way and does it make sense to dedicate the AP in my Transit Pro that has external antennas on the roof of my van for WiFi as WAN and dedicate the Mini AP that’s inside the van for connecting devices? I’m trying to minimize interference and CPU load while maximizing WiFi as WAN performance. Thanks.

hey Olivier, yes you can dedicate the transits antenna to only do WIFI as WAN. To do this simply turn off the wifi slider checkbox on the dashboard to the right of the SSID list on the primary dashboard page. This will turn off wifi on the transit but leave it on for WIFI as wan. NOTE: This will not disable WIFI on secondary access points but if you dont have a secondary access point this will disable WIFI so make sure your AP is plugged in and working. Great question and this is how our setup works to maximize the speed of wifi as wan.

What do you use to keep the unit cool it gets very hot

the devices are designed to run hot, they use the external casing as a heat sink to push heat out which is what lets them get the transit so compact. That said many customers have added standard heatsinks to the units if they want them to run cooler. They are available on amazon for around 10 dollars if that is something of interest. something like this is an option. amzn.to/2VU0uyh
