Why not just raise the kiosk by 1 plate, use a different door and then tile completely around the kiosk. I would also put a few other vendor stands next to the kiosk.

I plan to put other vendors nearby the kiosk, I just don't have designs for them yet. Those will be the subject of a future video.

@@ChrisBricks02 Also you can use some lego city food trucks like burger truck, new donut truck...

Have you considered using a non-lego track switch at the beginning of the yard to have a gentler curve and/or more diversions in one switch?
@ChrisBricks0211 күн бұрын
I have! I have yet to do extensive research into which third party companies make good products, but I have considered it. I plan to eventually get third party tracks to make the rails look more realistic, but realistically I don't think that'll happen until the layout gets a complete overhaul.

@@ChrisBricks02 cool. When it does happen, I will be very interested to see it.

Something in the far future you could do, is add all of those power miner minifigs to the mountain. Maybe like a small cave above the train tunnel would look cool
@ChrisBricks0211 күн бұрын
That's a good idea!

For the middle platform, perhaps you could make a "tunnel" going from the train station to the platform. Mind you not an actual tunnel, the facade of one on each side. Also, with giant ferris wheel, I know it's intuitive to put it by the water, but why not start a theme park/play park on the other side of the city and add a small water feature. I know that's a lot of work, but just a thought.
@ChrisBricks0211 күн бұрын
I've been experimenting with ideas for how figures can get from one platform to the other, but this is a good idea I haven't thought of before! I don't have any other amusement park sets unfortunately, so a theme park wouldn't make sense with just one ride. And also, I like how the back of the city is currently shaping up, so I don't want to rip all that up just for the ferris wheel. Maybe one day I'll be able to add it back in, but for now I'm going to leave it out.

I think you used the perfect door for the Corner kiosk. It blends in really well. Only thing I'd add to it would be a couple of stacks of news papers next to the back door
@ChrisBricks0211 күн бұрын
Thank you! I actually meant to do that for this video, but I got sidetracked and forgot to place the tiles down - I'll be sure to do that before the next city overview video!

I would change location of kiosk. Looking at the back does nothing for the set. Maybe on an angle, or even on the train platform.
@ChrisBricks0211 күн бұрын
I'm considering moving it, but I don't want to put it on the train platform - I want to leave that relatively open.

About the kiosk entrance, don't you have one of those old-school doors that don't require a frame? I think they're a brick lower than current ones too. About the access between platforms, maybe an overpass with stairs and elevators would do the trick, and be safer than a ground-level walkway crossing the tracks. 😉
@ChrisBricks0211 күн бұрын
That was actually the piece I had in mind for this, but I couldn't find it. I thought I had one in my collection, but I guess not. And that's a good idea! I have considered doing that so figures can access both platforms, but I haven't figured out a way to make it look good and not obstruct the view.
@FelipeVinhao10 күн бұрын
@ Maybe an underground access could do the trick then. You don't need to build the actual tunnel below, but as the platforms are some bricks above ground level, you can make some stairs, and even use darker pieces on lower steps to give the illusion of depth.
@ChrisBricks029 күн бұрын
I'll have to look into that, that's a good idea!

Why did you not build a Lego farm to your city
@ChrisBricks0211 күн бұрын
I have part of a farm in the back by the mountain, but I don't have the space to make an entire farm and do it well, so I stuck with part of one.

Your roads are too narrow, and you can put more trees and flowers. Maybe you cna put the tudor corner in more nicer location
@ChrisBricks025 күн бұрын
I like how my roads are one-way roads, it helps save space for the city, allowing me to have more buildings and more space for train tracks. And I like where the Tudor Corner is, I think it looks nice next to the other buildings, so I intend to keep it there for the time being.
