Lost Time Memory gets a lot more meaning because of this song too. Additional Memory ends with Ayano saying that she always wanted to tell Shintaro goodbye and that she loved him. Lost Time Memory has Ayano saying "Shall we say goodbye?" to Shintaro, meaning that at that moment she likely finally confessed to him. Because of this, while Lost Time Memory was mainly a song about Shintaro and him being able to move on and become a better person after accepting Ayano's death, the end of it actually represents BOTH Ayano and Shintaro being finally able to put their regrets to rest and move on.

those flowers arent spider lilies - which is commonly used is most media portraying death - those are actually dandelions if you notice the leaves as they fly around ayano and the petals! dandelions represent someone who will provide happiness :')

3:29 idk about that part, i moreorless interpreted that phrase as a "I wanna ruin our friendship, We should be lovers instead" sort of sentiment instead considering that she tried to nudge Takane into confessing to Haruka and mentioned how "even when you want to say something, there are times when you'll lose the chance to".

it may not add to the discussion, but I like how the notebook lines are vertical. And I just love how jin either tuned or played the guitar a certain way during the second verse that makes it sound like someone's crying. I want to believe it was a conscious choice since it adds more to the bitterness on that part in the song Interesting take by the way. You helped put the song in perspective for me.

I actually have theory about additional memory, but it involves manga spoilers so read at your own risk I think that additional memory is about not Ayano, but Snake of Retaining/Remembering eyes (and so I'll be referring to Manga route 2 Ayano as Snake, and the one we see in other timelines as Ayano) I analyzed the English captions of the official video, and also compared it to two other translations. I believe that also manga route 2 is the first timeline, I think that it's also backed up by how it transitions. Ayano(which is later revealed to be Snake) is talking to Shintaro, presumably in the daze. She then asks him about her death, then it cuts to him waking up. Now you'd assume it's him dreaming about it, but from the end of the manga you can see it's actually Snake telling/showing Shintaro that timeline. And since Shintaro gets his eye power in that manga route, it seems that that route is actually the first, or one of the first ones. Also that the Ayano we see in the final chorus of Lost Time Memory is actually Snake(her eyes are always red too). Now the one we see in Additional Memory always has red eyes too, from what I can tell, no one else has had this in the daze. A lot of the lyrics make sense for Snake too(even through different translations) This song could also be both for Ayano and Snake, since while they are from different timelines they are one in the same. Some of the lines too could be Snake narrating what the current Ayano is doing, like not being able to hold Shintaro's hand. Additional Memory for Snake perhaps could be taking place as the first scene from Lost Time Memory is. I've always felt too that some of the lyrics were a bit off for Ayano. Like referring to that this is a story where happiness cannot exist. I don't think Ayano knows about the other timelines and the tragedy that will befall everyone. Going off the anime, Shintaro is the one that tells her that, though I haven't watched it in a bit so I could be wrong. It makes more sense for some of the more retrospective lines(of the whole story) to be for Snake instead of Ayano. Even if this theory is completely wrong, there is one part that is most definitely Snake. Right before the final chorus, we see scenes go by pretty fast. One of them is Ayano and Mary. Now Ayano and Mary don't know each other, however Snake and Mary do. This Mary also has multiple snakes, as seen by her appearance. Her short hair and those weird spike things she has, this is a Mary who has been through the tragedy. Ayano also has a snake wrapped around her, implying she's gained a snake, however, as far as we know she's never met Mary before getting a snake. Expect in the manga. (I haven't read the light novels so I could be wrong about that, but from what I know it follows the music route somewhat.) The snake surrounding her could be symbolism for her becoming a snake. As it wraps around her and consumes her. I believe with confidence that this is Snake and not Ayano. For the rest of the song it can surely be debated on whether it's Ayano or Snake, but again, it could be a song for both. Also something to note, the last chapter in the manga is an Additional Memory chapter. Meaning that this, and Imaginary Reload could in fact be songs set in that timeline. But this is all hypothetical. If you have found flaws with this, or just want to talk more about it, please do reply. I want to flesh out this theory more, and by finding flaws I can figure out what to improve on for this theory.

It's noted by JP fans on Twitter that when the sky changes to orange as Ayano's "falling upwards" in the MV, the sky is an upside down version of the same sky in Lost Time Memory (remember how at the start of that MV there's a red lens flare in the distance before Ayano's silhouette disappears?)

Twitter is where most big things will be posted though in a brief manner.
