Not necessarily. There are a lot of tokens that are being airdropped. It’s part of their marketing strategy, but I would say proceed with caution. Most modern wallets have safeguard features that will warn you when you’re doing something that’s going to be risky so pay attention to what your wallet is telling you.

What about sweepers? How do they access my wallet? I experienced two sweeps from my MetaMask wallet to an unknown address.

Sweepers are like macros that can be set up to automate transactions. They can be good or bad depending on the situation. Malicious sweepers can only be set up on wallets that are already compromised. No one can sweep your wallet if it hasn't been compromised. So somehow an attacker gained access to your wallet. Usually this is through your seed phrase getting revealed. Either you were tricked or some malware stole it when you were typing it in. If you've noticed that you've sent transactions into your wallet and they have immediately been transferred out, you need to stop using that wallet now! If there are any funds in there that are not gone yet, you need to transfer them out. Start yourself a new wallet and make sure that you keep your seed phrase secure. Dusting is similar, but a different kind of attack. I didn’t really mention dusting in this video. Dusting is sending small amounts of crypto into a wallet in order to monitor the public facing transactions. It’s basically just reconnaissance, which would be followed up with a phishing attack if they felt the wallet was, big enough for a concentrated attack.

@@o221e3 there’s a difference between dusting and airdrops. We’re seeing a lot of projects that are giving airdrops out. This is a way to promote a particular coin. Some of them are worthless. Some of them may end up being good projects if you see an AirDrop of an unfamiliar coin in your wallet, I would suggest doing a little bit of research and finding out more about the coin.

1 supply chain attack if you bought your ellipal wallet from amazon or a third party you could have been at risk of receiving a wallet that was already comprised 2. Go to revoke cash whenever you are touching defi the websites will ask you to grant authorization if you do that gives the websites full authorization to pull unlimited funds generally from your wallet you always want to revoke access as soon as your done. People can’t just grab tokens from your wallet without something shady happening
