Trinidad and Tobago has one of the most extensive air quality monitoring networks in the Caribbean, has ratified the Paris Agreement and made international commitments to improve air quality and reduce emissions. Utilizing a grant from the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) to advance efforts to improve air quality, reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCP) and protect public health, Trinidad was able to carry out a project to assess the burden of disease due to Air Pollution, train 30 persons in the use of the WHO AirQ+ software and prepare an integrated Road- map on Air Quality, SLCPs mitigation and Health.
This is a video summarizing the results of the Project.
The project was implemented by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in collaboration with the Environmental Management Agency and with support of the United Nations Environment Program - Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNEP-ROLAC).
