If Eileen wants to be retired & not put work into learning new skills, is that something to strongly consider when you have children? Do you want to do the majority of the work raising the child, Julia, while you're also the one bringing in income?

Children are a lot different than just “a job”, she has a big heart and patience, her wanting to retire would actually give her some time to stay home for a baby. She’s also getting older, sheesh, would you say this to ur mother if she wanted to babysit your kids?
@Lo-and-Jaq3 жыл бұрын
I dunno the way this is worded it sounds like you are implying a child that Julia gives birth to is just hers to raise - and any care and parenting Eileen would give would be like babysitting Julia's child. Julia could give birth, but a child in a marriage belongs to both people in the marriage. They are gay so you cannot make a baby genetically, but a baby would be both of theirs regardless of who carries it. Either of them could stay at home during the day and help with the child rightfully so. Somewhat of a short-sighted observation with hurtful implications.

I think what a lot of people asking these personal questions fail to realize, especially those who don't have experience with long-term relationships, is that issues happen in relationships. It doesn't mean there's ill will or toxicity involved, nor that it'll automatically cause a breakup. Being able to take the time to really dig into issues and overcome them is a sign of maturity as a person and as a couple. I'm sorry that some people don't realize that and make it a goal to distort the ways other viewers see y'all. It, unfortunately, happens a lot and it's bullshit. Whenever I see y'all I see a beautiful couple. A real couple. A couple that goes through shit and doesn't pretend like every little bit of their life is perfect. In a world of manufactured bullshit, people have forgotten how to recognize realness. People think youtube is purely for entertainment, and they want their entertainment to be flawless. Anything outside of their idea of perfection must be the worst thing ever and everyone involved is terrible! It's sad. Social media has made so many people fearful of reality. Hopefully, they learn and grow with time and age. xoxoxoxo

I’m so glad you answered the question about your relationship so well! In my experience, if you have a relationship where there is no friction or tough spots that raises some serious alarm bells 🔔 it means that either one of the people is not having their needs met or they’re both not having their needs met, this is because a relationship consists of two different people who will always have some differences in needs, opinions, temperaments etc… a healthy relationship has to have some friction as the couple change and adapt to fit into each other’s lives and that friction causes growth and compromise and strengthens the bond. If they are “perfect” it’s likely that they’re not changing or growing and that means that at least one of them is being overlooked in order to avoid friction.

It's such a red flag that Eileen said she always thinks she's right. I couldn't be with a partner who had that sort of hostile arrogance. Couples are teams who are always on each other's side. I have never ever had that sort of conflict with my partner. One thing we agree to never do is fight. We don't fight, we work together and we problem solve because in every discussion, she is my priority and I am hers. So we work to advocate for each other within the relationship not against. I worry that Julia keeps normalising this sort of dynamic for her young audience. This is not how she should be treated by her wife. And before anyone comes for me on this, just know that if I were her friend irl life I would say this as bluntly as I am writing this because that's what true friends do. I don't need to be reminded that we only get a snapshot of their relationship. Eileen said what she said with absolutely no consideration for Julia. It's not acceptable. Full stop.

Sometimes my boyfriend has to really take care of me because I’m chronically ill person with an ostomy bag and dialysis, I actually recently got a kidney transplant but that’s not going to fix all my heath problems. The point is my boyfriend knew all this before he started to date me and even though it’s hard sometimes he takes care of me! So if you date someone way older it’s almost unavoidable that as the younger partner you would have to help out your older partner. I’m pretty sure Julia was way more than aware of this before she got married to Eileen. If she was really that unhappy with her relationship I’m sure she would just leave, it’s not like she’s being forced into anything.

Life is so unpredictable and in many ways our strength and love in relationships are truly tested in the times that are difficult. I have the right to say that because I have been with my husband for 25 years, I am 50 now, and it has not been all roses and rainbows. As much as I appreciate your honesty, don’t ever let people who write horrible comments dictate what you think you need to share. Unfortunately when you open your lives up to millions of watchers, many miserable people will want you to feel bad about something, aka haters or trolls. Live your best lives! It’s not your Chanel, or other people’s opinions that dictate the health of your relationship. I hardly ever comment on people that I follow, but I really love you guys and I hate to see that those haters get to you. Btw, we have an Airbnb in Niagara Falls, Canada, so if you ever travel this way, I would love to host the two of you and show you all the beautiful aspects of Niagara Falls. Posting politics on Twitter and appearing on BBC radio a few times is not a job as some people have tried to say. If she was/had been working she would still have a decent amount of time before she’d be even eligible to retire, at least if she was still making videos Julia wouldn’t be the sole breadwinner of the house. As someone who is a photographer (me) and makes videos, you have to be in the right frame of mind. It’s easy enough to take the pictures and make the videos but it’s the editing part that takes the time and depending on what’s going on in your life, it can be hard to be creative. Sometimes it’s hard to wrap our minds around computer stuff. Eileen says she doesn’t want to work, she’s retired, and I’m sure struggles with her energy and depression at times. Having space to do your own thing can also be a factor. Living in a small apartment in a pandemic with not much room to “breathe” can also interfere with your creativity. I live in a 2 bedroom decent sized apartment with my partner and I get much more creative and really get into my work when I’m the only one home. Sometimes I just push myself to get it done, and I’m glad I do. The pandemic BS that we are going through has seriously drained my creativity at times. Maybe same for Eileen. Besides I don’t see Julia leaving so I guess she’s okay with things the way they are.

I only saw her during dinner and on weekends, she worked on her business and did her own thing. We rarely did anything together and when I expressed my feelings, she took it as criticism and shut down emotionally. We just bought a house 3 years ago and are still in the house together. I have nowhere to go and I don’t make enough money to live on my own. I don’t know what will happen but this is horrible. I wish you luck and peace.

I haven't seen one of your videos in a while but this popped up on my home feed today. You and Aileen are such a sweet couple and I love your videos. Am a huge fan. I hope you two enjoy doing all of the things you weren't able to because of the pandemic.

That’s part of the perks to having an older partner, their stability , wisdom and security bring a calmness of understanding that we’re not born to be attached at the hip

Great job ladies. Inquiring minds wanted to know. Or nosey minds. Lol. Putting your life on utube calls for some kind of disclosure but glad you choose what you disclose without the pressures because after at all it is your life and your personal business. You are absolutely correct Julia and Eileen that there is no perfect relationship. Anybody who thinks there’s a perfect relationship out there, it would be very hard for me to believe that because everybody has problems in their relationship, it’s just a matter of how you communicate and respect one another differences and how you were able to come together and compromise with one another. My girlfriend and I have been together nine years and we just now got engaged because we had to work through quite a few things but I couldn’t imagine my life without her. When you’re younger it’s easy just to throw your hands up in the air and say oh there’s lots of fishes in the sea and this one’s not for me and I’m giving up because I want to see what’s out there I’m still young etc. but the grass is usually not greener on the other side. You both got married for a reason and that’s because you love each other. I can see that evidence in your video and your candidness about what’s going on with both of you. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing what you did xoxo. 🌸🌺🌸🌺

My partner relapsed on Methamphetamine during lockdown here in New Zealand. My heart is breaking. Like you say, no relationship is perfect. Sometimes you can weather the storm, sometimes not. I don't know if I can keep going but I'll try.

Be safe, take care of yourself and don't be afraid to leave. Try to get your partner help, as much different kinds of support as is available but don't drag a one sided relationship on, you also deserve to feel the love you give. Good luck from over the ditch and take care of yourself first.

There are editing apps that Eileen could use they are simple to understand but if you have a long video it will take some time to edit even when you use simple software to edit. so I get why she would stop making videos it is time consuming.
