Addressing REAL SWTOR Concerns

Silent protagonist works only if the protagonist has been silent *the entire time.* We’ve already associated voices with our characters; I don’t want to read it and make the voice in my mind. KOTOR 1 and 2 were a masterclass with silent protagonists because it legit felt like *we* were the character, *we* were Revan, etc.

This was KOTOR's 'traditional' dialoge system. The only time it ever actually appears is when there are more than three dialogue choices.

I really miss the 5.10 - 6.3 era of SWTOR. It was probably my favourite time in the game content wise, had great class balance too. When 7.0 rolled out in early 2022, I had a really visceral reaction to the changes. Sure some stuff has now been fixed or even gotten better, but so much of what I liked about gear and class design for example, is gone.

I have played this game since beta. I literally have 10s of thousands of hours in the game doing all the content. At this point SWTOR is in the retirement home phase. It will get minor updates here and there but the days of big content releases are gone. It's still a great game for what it is, but like you said, its outclassed as an MMO in most areas apart from story. One thing that really makes me sour is that my main character and guild are on Satele Shan, which unlike Star Forge, is literally a dead server. I hope they merge the two NA servers soon, there is absolutely no reason to have one super populated server and one dead one. Very frustrating.

I just started (after boycotting since release) to play, and honestly its just depressing how much better it would have been if it wasnt an MMO. After 13 years I'm still mad we got this trash instead of KOTOR 3.

The answer is neither it’s wasted opportunity I was a part of that games beta testing alpha testing even from 2008 to launch and Star Wars galaxies did way more for mmorpgs than Star Wars the Old Republic did specifically when they joined the f2p market

I know this is an old video, but everything you said sounds very much like what people said about Star Wars Galaxies before its shutdown was announced. I'm not saying you're wrong about its future, but there's always a bigger fish. Just as Galaxies was ultimately shutdown to not compete with SWTOR, the same thing could very much happen again with the role reversed.

Whatever comes next I hope it payout time for all the setup... and although Sa'har and Ri'kan are recent, I hope they gone/set free next expansion. And that they give me my "Mandalorian War Lizard" which is 99% artillery canon and 1% lizard legs, as a mount.

i just restarted SWTOR and am here working on leveling all combat sttyles there are plenty of players ad im in a fairly larget guild on Star forge started in december

Main issue for me as a new player is the GTN is a whole load of undercutting were I feel a permanent listing at an auction price would be better like OSRS but that's still minor only other issue is the ghetto movement issues and especially with datacron hunting, as annoying as they are it can be kinda funny.

I completely agree with u Noble. I play this game for 5 years now and I love it. When I start playing everyone were saying the game is dead (but its not) I made a lot of friend here and we are raiding now 3-4 times a week and I love it. And like u said, the game is perfect for casual players that dont have time to grind all day. I am older so i dont have time for that😊

I plan on trying to get a friend to try out the bounty hunter story, as I co-op as sniper, for his first SWTOR experience cuz he likes the Mandalorian... I did have sticker shock for the first time ever since launch cuz of the monthly sub fee of $25CAD, in this economy... but, it was fun playing the game in VR using VorpX (wish I could start a new character at KOTFE to see those VR graphics) with the fanbase's insatiable thirst for infinitely new content, I almost wish there was an official A.I. Developer who would feed the current game's story content into an A.I. model and have it regularly output very large amounts of stories, game assets, etc... there'd have to be lots of quality checking, but it won't otherwise ever be humanly or economically possible to rival the base game storylines, which is my dream

One thing to remember about SWTOR and the smaller content updates compared to the other games. What they call expansions are smaller yes, they are also free. Sub for one month and ALL expansions that are in the game are unlocked, permanently. When you get the bigger expansions in other games, those can cost anywhere from 50-150 dollars, depending on the version, normal or "deluxe collectors edition" or whatever they call it. Name of the game when it comes to SWTOR is "casual".

I always enjoyed this game. More than ANY mmo I have ever played. It's alt friendly which is big for me bc I play several toons. My only complaint really is the endgame content and rewards. It can be hard to find groups to do things like master flashpoints and uprisings bc so few people seem interested in doing them.
