Hi Ade I have the same lathe. How have you fitted the milling slide please?

Are you going to harden the toolpost block?

I had originally planned to make it from EN8 but could only buy it by the metre , cast iron was easy to buy just the piece i wanted, so i went with it on the thought that the compound slide is unhardened cast so i had not planned to harden the post with the light duty i will be using it for , also i do not have the facilities to flame harden such a lump .

Are the warco lathe’s any good comparable to the myfords?

Myford all the way , the warco is value for money but the myfords will last a lifetime ,
