Hi Ade Great vids especially on the models. This production method on a centre lathe reminded me of my experience on a capstan lathe, in the sixties, where all the necessary tooling was set on the capstan. From memory the centre lathe operators were used for short and more precise runs and capstan lathe operators, like myself, were used for mass production. Both types were productive in their way but the machining and operating techniques learnt were never forgotten by myself. Now,in my 70,s,I am inspired by these videos that you and others are producing because it brings back all the memories of the skills and techniques that i learnt back then.Haveing been in the building industrie since the 70,s this is a great return to a different skill.Keep up the good work.

I would love all that swarf for my wood turning projects, when I turn or file brass/aluminium I try and keep as much as possible to add to cracks, splits or voids but that stuff would look great in a big void with some resin. TFS G :)

You can reduce the initial chatter when drilling straight in without a centre by pinning a piece of Emery cloth between the drill tip and the face before you turn it on. An old trick I’ve been using since I was a sprog.

I wouldn't have gone straight in even when I had a Myford Super Seven! Well done. I thought these lathes were supposed to blow the motor or electronics with this sort of work.

if you can consistently work within a 'couple of microns' on a Warco I would love to see that lol I have a Warco mill and it's hard pressed to cut a sammich in a straight line lol

I have to say I'm really enjoying all these videos your posting on the use of this lathe. Its a real help as a way to see it's capabilities before I take the plunge myself. Really liking the toolpost series too. Are the insert tools used here, the ones which come with the lathe or another set?
