That is very interesting point. I learned the opening recently. This is first time that I played Slav defense in a real game against Geller gambit. Sometimes when you learn new opening you forget the move. During the game I thought what was the move that was played in the video that I made. Luckily I did remember the line.

These are your best videos - where you show and comment on your own games! I'm not entirely sure why that is, but perhaps it's because one can feel the genuineness in your voice with which you comment. One is able to explicitly hear, through the sound of your voice, how heartbreaking it must've been to lose such a fantastic advantage in the blink of an eye. But time isn't endless, and sometimes we are forced to hurry in situations that call for it. At the end of the day, we are only dependent on time because we age and die, and it really doesn't matter as much as we may think. Also, do not feel bad that you had two chocolates, perhaps you should've considered a third one for this brilliant and instructive chess video. Thank you Mato! Pozdrav is Stockholma.

Hello mato. I have seen many videos from your channel 4 years now, they were enjoyable and I have learned a lot. The most important thing I have learned from you, however, is how not to forget to be a kind and good person. You have a good heart and that is what makes me watching you, i am thinking that are people like you outside the world and that is beautiful, you are giving me hope and strength to continue. So i wanna say thank you from the bottom of my heart because you deserve it. Keep going, you are my favorite, you are the best.

Its so helpful to hear you talk about your own game; the thinking process of a good player like you, and what you find you can't calculate...its very helpful to hear what a good player can and can't do in otb play. Thank you for this. You help me forgive myself for my mistakes in my games.

En passant (from French: in passing) is a move in the board game of chess. It is a special pawn capture which can occur immediately after a player moves a pawn two squares forward from its starting position, and an enemy pawn could have captured it had it moved only one square forward.

Mato! I have watched maybe 100 videos of yours and this is MY FAVORITE! I was always hoping you would include some of your own chess games! This teaches me that it's one thing to analyze chess from the comfort of your home, but when you have an opponent and a match and there is a clock... it's very different! You almost got pawn glory! Great game.

Most of your listener, or, should I say, almost all of us get sad when we know that the last game played by Alekhine is also your last video on this channel. But yes, there is always a time to born and to die, and we will remember the times when you joke on us while learning so much to our game, all the lessons you plant in our heart. Goodluck with your life and we will continue to be a better chess player and a good person. Thanks Mato.

Hey, Mato. Nice video. Thank you very much. I have a question if you would be so kind: At 11:57 Would it be better if Rg6 instead of Rf1+? I know you didn't have the time to think about it, but now afterwards what dou you think?

At 8:18, you said he wouldn't be able to bring his rook down because you have check winning rook. But you're on the same square as the rook, no? If you move your Queen and give check, he can take your Queen right back. Am I missing something?

Mato I love your videos, thank you very much for them :) Now...I am confused. At 8:16 you have check, why would you win rook? If after check, why does king go to G2? The rook from E8 can come up and capture black queen on E1 right? And then rook on F8 captures white queen on C8.

This is a very interesting video. This loss could easily be considered a win since you created a winning position but did not convert to a concrete win. What is winning really? Being able to create this winning position or being able to convert positions to a final concrete end. In any case, I am mentionning this because often I do play very well and lose and other times I play bad and win. It gets frustrating but I realized that what is important is the ingame. Results are often over rated. TY

@ 8:12, you say he can't go to E8 with rook in that position, because you would capture his rook, but wouldn't he just capture your queen with his rook instead of moving the king? With that he would effectively just trade queens as you would capture his queen. Also, thanks for the great video.
