Shane: "I'm still in the driver's seat" Von: "You keep thinking that bud" 😎

I love these less formal videos where you duet with Von. Descent video was great. I bet that car driver was checking their rear view mirror and thinking he's still there behind me. I'm still old school on 23mm tyres and rim brakes and suspect I'd have to back off more on a descent like that. One day when I can afford a new extra bike I'll get to try disc brakes! Video quality from modern cameras is amazing.

It's been a few years since I've had TDU FOMO but your content is killing me. I may have even leaned into a few of those corners watching the descent of Greenhills. Keep up the great work mate

Belair literally just up thr road from me. I'm with you Shane about road tyres on gravel as I ride slicks and thin light ones at that. Pity Maven didn't get over this year and durianrider is low key these days. Gosh I bought my blue cleats for under $20 online

Very much enjoying the relaxed discussion, TDU insights and social rides - many thanks! Just curious to know how you transported your bikes??? I am keen to travel long distance with Cervelo Caledonia SRAM + hydraulic disc brakes - how far did you break-down and then pack? Look forward to more reports from Adelaide! Cheers, Shaun

I'm totally with Von on the "matchy-matchy" thing. All things must match or at least be neutral. Zipp wheels, Shimano groupset? No way! It's stupid, I know, but I can't do it. The descent part is definitely stolen from @ridesofjapan, love it!

Yep. There's something up with that GoPro with the Max lens... iirc the bitrate and sharpness are the same. I'll look into it.

What kind of wireless microphone are you using for the GoPro?
@gplama2 жыл бұрын
We were using the DJI Mics in the video... but I ended up using the GoPro audio as it was better for this recording.

One of the things to put me off riding is having to put on sunscreen… I’m interested to know what products do you use?
@gplama2 жыл бұрын
Anything with SPF 50+ rating on it... and lots of it! Von layers up by putting some on early and then topping up before she heads out.

Great content. I've gotta say the TDU parcors is amazingly boring. Australia can do much much better. I'm sure Santos is a great sponsor but it's time to move our national stage race to other sites in OZ.

Boring pacors, you have got to be kidding. Punchy stages that suit a wide selection of rider and easy to get to for viewing. Plus where else would you go. NSW hates cycling, as demonstrated by the most shit worlds ever, Vic has some big clubs but the rest is boring flats.
@peteracain2 жыл бұрын
@@jamesjordan3382 Ugly dry boring landscape. Very boring town. Hardly the best of Australia on show. Big climbs in Vic. Gorgeous long climbs and actual pretty scenery on Sunshine coast/Gold coast. Adelaide and surrounds are a little embarrassing IMHO.
@jamesjordan33822 жыл бұрын
@@peteracain climbs are ok for veibyt they are no greener than the Adelaide Hills and at least the lead up would not be a snooze fest. QLD is nice but would not provide any variety in course if you went anywhere with enough infrastructure.
@trippinjim32 жыл бұрын
The riders are in preseason, they don't want big climbs. They could add more vertical metres, but specifically don't to attract a better cross section of rider. Also, there's a lot of science applied to the design of each stage re climb placement and other features to make for the best racing and so as to keep the result in contention for longer. Lastly it is not the national stage race. You are over simplifying the whole exercise Peter Cain.
