Haven’t read all the comments but I was thinking that you also could use this technique but by putting a clear divider on top of your painting when you know what mark you want to make but you’re not sure if you will like it or if it really goes where you want to put it! So then you don’t ruin your painting and you can draw more spontaneously! And you can either wipe it from the clear divider and do another mark or different colour!😊

Thanks so much for the great idea. How do you then put the pattern on the art work.. OR is the acrylic divider just the example and then you repaint it free hand?
@AdeleSypesteynStudio Жыл бұрын
I usually use it like a stencil, or I can also do free hand, depending on what feel I'm going for. You should try it both ways and see what you like!

@@AdeleSypesteynStudio Do you mean paint directly onto the guide over the mark, "print" with it onto the painting and then wipe off the guide?

I use regular "clear protector sheets" for binders to make these guides, too. Easier to find in the office supply dept. of stores.
@lisegingras13952 жыл бұрын
Brilliant ! Thank you ! Once you have found the right shape, how do you "apply" it to your canvas?
@creshalu2 жыл бұрын
You paint or draw it on with the medium and color of your choice.
@LauraReichert-g4j9 ай бұрын
You just re-create it directly onto the canvas. The guide just gives you a choice of what to paint or draw on top of the painting you have in progress.

I’m sorry Adele but my high school art teacher from 40 years ago and thousands of artists around the world would be surprised to hear you invented art books or art guides. It’s kind of extreme hubris to say you invented something that people have been doing for years.
@AdeleSypesteynStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Carl, I’m sure there are lots of other types of art guides, but I’m saying this one done like I show you here I’ve never seen before and I came up with it. I’m just talking about this particular method of a painting guide.

@@juanitasanchez1809 you just paint or draw it on the canvas and replicate the guide. The guides are just that, guides and ideas. They’re not meant to transfer.
