Great video guys. I’m planning on getting into AT and this video gave me a great idea of what models I want to paint. I painted up a Reaver when I was new to painting and now I got a crazy good deal on the Precept Maniple box that I was surprised to see at my FLGS. Going to go Legio Krytos. Now if I can only find some decals for them 😂

Fantastic episode! On the Mechanicum Knights: I use them a lot in my lists, primarily to pad out activations in concert with Amigers. They're really handy in lists with larger titans (I play Tritonis, so I'm jamming an extra warlord into a lot of maniples), as they can give you a cheap, nimble unit that is easily hidden, can play objectives/objective denial, and can still make some mischief if they charge you in the rear with a lot of S6 rending attacks, expecially if you then follow up with a bunch of volkite into the same location. I normally just take them as a pair, but I've had some success playing them in bricks of 4 in a knight household lance, expecially with the shielding banner.

30k/40k Moirax get a C-Beam option too. Annoying that's not yet been ported across into AT yet :(

The Cerastus knight is better than E tier based on how many titans I've killed with them. I agree the avenger bolt cannon is useless outside of a single use case, applying the coup de grâce. Its great for definitely finishing off a titan which has been kicked about by the lancers and you need "just one more hit". The amount of dice takes it from "I'll probably finish it off so long as I hit it and don't fluff the damage rolls" to "Do you want to bother rolling the dice?" territory. Yes, this requires you to be flank or rear attacking a +3 damage location and that sounds a once in a blue moon situation but I'd attribute a good percentage of engine kills to my Castigator's bolt cannon being the last gun to fire and giving me a bucket of rapid fire dice to really put the boot in. They have almost certainly killed more titans than my Acherons. So D tier at least.

Thanks for taking the time to pen your response! Nice to hear a different perspective! I’ve never found myself in a position where I would choose to field them instead of anything else. For the price of three of them you could take another warhound so if push came to shove that’s the root I would probably take if I wasn’t taking another knight variant instead!

I Have seen the Iconoclast make its points back twice. out of about 20 games. First time My mate ran up the flank in a 5000 point game and plowed into an Extergimus maniple and slaughtered 3 warlords before being finished off by a Psi-Titan. Other time I was playing it against my friends force. I warp displaced though a building and made the charge. Cut him to ribbons but he is Tempestus. He finished me off in the Tempestus special round of fire and his and my catastrophic meltdown basically vapourised his side of the board. Absolutely glorious in both situations.

I think it’s definitely one of those titans that’s just really fun to use more than being overly competitive! An Astorum one can just be pure shenanigans!

I just started adeptus titanicus by getting an old discontinued percept maniple box and its a shame my fav titan needs so much help (warbringer nemesis) At least i have 2 warhounds a reaver and a warlord to fill the maniple around the nemesis

I wish the recent releases for weapons, Grav, C-beam, was Reaver arm mounts so the Warbringer got more options.

Styrix get interesting when you arm them with paired claws (which pretty much requires 3D printing, much like dual battle cannon Questoris…). Two with double siege claws comes in at 140pts and can land 11x Str 6 Rending attacks on a full charge, hitting on 2+s. Would I take 4 with dual claws instead of 3 Lancers? Probably not, but 3 for 205 should be able to punch up against Warhounds and Reavers. The concussive grav guns aren’t great, but they do let you mess around with someone and maybe let you drive a Warhound back into terrain.

@@Maximalfireright. Nobody’s buying two boxes to build a pair of dual claw & a pair of dual Volkite Styrix. I’ve messed around with the idea of dual lightning cannon Magaera too as a dual battle cannon analog. The one place where it might be better would be lighting up a tightly packed Warhound pack… for all of a turn before they toasted you. With the exception of the broken Acastus knights, I’m honestly happy that GW never really released power creep spiral units for AT. It’s a surprisingly refreshing break from their usual approach to wargames ;)

I think the place is argue with you guys the most would be putting Reavers in S-tier. I think they’re a really high A, but man is it so easy to just cook through the body track on one if you really want to. I also rate the Warbringer a low B moreso than a C… but that’s because I use it as a maneuvering, brawling “Super Reaver” with a Bellicosa moreso than anything else. Do agree that you really don’t take them unless the maniple calls for it though. I avoid the Arcus like the plague - never had a good experience with it - but Precepts and Ruptura are fun to run. If the Ruptura was 1 mandatory Warbringer and 2 mandatory Reavers, I think we’d see it used more

When the backlog of rereleases clear for legions Imperialis it will be better. id also keep an eye out for the Maniple box that they said would be coming with legions Imperialis last summer. It’s probably going to drop with the next wave

I'll take "KZbinrs who haven't seen an Extergimus warlord remove a Reaver in 1 turn" for 500 please! Sure you almost redline the reactor in 1 turn of shooting, but you also get to use all your repairs on cooling the reactor instead of pushing voids.

I’ve been on the receiving end of a Fureans Extergimus (the worst kind of nasty) more than once and I’ve ran them myself multiple times as well! I know the pain! But this kind of thing should only happen to you once before you know how to outplay a hard hitting small activation list. Concealment barrages can mitigate them to some extent and followed up with a ‘war lust’ or ‘only forwards’ strat, if you sacrifice your turn one shooting for a full stride then turn two the warlords will have to play very hard to not lose their 33% of their firepower from their carapace weapons and keep people in arc. You don’t want your warlords shields dropping from redlining itself turn one to find a bunch of warhounds and reavers inside of its carapace weapons and in its flank! 😂
