orcs do get smarter as they age, some orcs when not waaaghing even create settlements where those brave enough could potentially even trade with them, these "squatter kings" are ancient, powerful and dangerous, i reccomend the Lorebeards stream on Black Crag to find out more about them cause its really interesting

One of the scariest things about Grom is the fact that since he was from a wolfrider tribe he wasn't a siegeloving guy, this made his WAAAAAGH atypical since orc led waaaaaghs will often try to besiege a place and fall to infighting, Grom however being a goblin didn't have the patience for this and he just moved on, he didn't do sieges, some parts of his waaaagh still split of and did sieges but Grom would not keep up a siege. This meant that grom's waaaaagh would last DECADES! he was genuinely one of the most succesful warbosses ever, the empire due to Dieter not even warning the elector counts or summonning the armies, got steamrolled, they weren't ready to split up the horde (which you have to do if you don't want to get overrun when fighting a WAAAAgh!) another factor was that the high king, enraged by dieters refusal to help his people make a stand against the greenskins forbade all kings from aiding the empire until dieter was dead, the priesthood of sigmar, who see the dwarfs as important in their religion were furious at the emperor. Grom's WAAAAAGH! also killed of the largest population of Gnomes left in the old world and in his wake he also left multiple goblin tribes which still plague the empire to this day

Probably the thing I like most about Fantasy Greenskins is that both Orcs AND Goblins get to share the spotlight. Specifically, I love the bigger presence Goblins have in greenskin society and warfare. They're definitely still weaker to Orcs but can play to their smarter/manipulative ways enough for them to elevate themselves into becoming powerful Shamans and Warbosses in their own right (imagine that, a puny Goblin bossin' Orcs around). In this setting, its the Goblins that perfectly represent Mork's cunningly brutal side of the coin. You can have entire tribes comprised solely of Goblins and have them still be an actual, legit threat and thats sick! It just makes me sad for their 40k counterparts, the Grots/Gretchin and how much of a backseat they've taken there. Like aside from the one example of Da Red Gobbo and his Grot Rebellion, they've lost a lot of their independence and exist only to be servants to Orks.

Snaggi Littletoof from the Warboss and Big Dakka books has real potential to become a significant Grotboss if handled well, it would be awesome if something happened with him but knowing 40k lore I doubt cool things are even allowed to happen. Da Red Gobbo is kind of just a christmas mascot now its really depressing for Gobbo fans.

quick note on the lore, we can thank the chaos dwarfs for the existence of orc blacksmiths, they taught some of their orc "laborers" to do it, and after the revolution, guess where that lot went to? Had sigmar and the dwarfs not held the line at Blackfire pass all of lands beyond the mountains would've fallen

To give context to just how bad winters in Kislev are, the Warriors of Chaos tend to march through Kislev on their way to fight the empire. Most of their armies will just die from the cold and be at a fraction of their strength by the time they make it past Kislev. And as a reminder, the Warriors of Chaos tend to march SOUTH out of the Chaos Wastes near the North Pole, down through Norsca, and then hit Kislev. Now granted they're also FIGHTING the people of Kislev on their way through, and the Ice Witches tend to make things as uncomfortable as possible for the Warriors of Chaos, but it really says a lot that they're dying of exposure while marching SOUTH towards the warmer parts of the world. In short? Kislev is *COLDER THAN HELL.* And yet people somehow manage to live there, where the only season that isn't Super Winter is just regular Winter.

Honestly, if we are to compare how both setting treated the Greenskins: 40K Did the orks justice while fantasy cooked with the goblins. Meanwhile AOS so far seems to have more or less found a way to balance both of them.

Somewhat dissapointed in this. DK didn't get into the more interesting Greenskin aspects like their influence in the Worlds edge mountains, certain units like the Arachnarok spider, or simple things like terms such as "DAKKA" not existing due to how low tech they are...hell... no mention of the Doom Divers? his explanations of the various greenskin characters are pretty good however though somewhat lacking, Skarsnik speaking Khazalid would be the equiv of Ghaz speaking high gothic and he kinda lacked the well deserved embelishment Bricky has when it comes to this sorta stuff overall though episode is a solid 7 or 8/10, i just think that halfway through it just became a "Greenskin characters" episode which could've been its own episode all together (he did left out Wurrzag and all lol)

For anyone wondering why the Slayers didn't just throw themselves at Grimgor, part of the Slayer Oath is that they must sell their lives as dearly as possible and NOT do so at the expense of another dwarf's life or honor. So, if the Slayer's can just turtle up behind the wall and wait until Grimgor leaves, they have to do that, otherwise they would not be dying a worthy death in combat, they'd just be committing suicide by Orc, and their death wouldn't absolve them of their dishonor, so their spirits would be stuck in limbo and forever denied entry into the afterlife until the day one of their surviving relatives takes the Slayer Oath on their behalf to absolve them of their dishonor. Now if the king or acting commander tells the Slayers he NEEDS them to go out and try and thin the Orc numbers in a counterattack, that's a different story, because they're just following orders, but issuing this order without proper justification or against the counsel of any advisors may be considered dishonorable, so a king or commander will very rarely tell the Slayers to go fight and die outside of a rearguard action where the Slayers are honor bound to hold the enemy at bay for as long as possible.

Two things I find especially interesting about Warhammer Fantasy's Greenskins compared to 40K's Orks are that they're a touch more serious because the whole of Fantasy is a touch less, and the Fantasy Goblins get way more love than the 40K Grots. The Grots have some tabletop and lore stuff like the Red Gobbo, but Goblins get major factions. When a Goblin like Skarsnik holds proportionally similar infamy to a major Ork like Ghazghkull, it's safe to say Fantasy's given the little guys their due.
