Btw, DK was SEVERELY underselling the skaven assistance in helping kill Nagash. Skaven were basically exploiting the mines until they were found out by Nagash and expelled out, then they started a war that ended in a permanent stalemate because Nagash never runs out of corpses and Skaven never run out of Skaven. So they begrudgingly formed a truce when Nagash said “ok, we both have more important things to do so mine warpstone for me and take your fair share” and the skaven were happy with the deal, but clan eschin assassins learned of Nagash’s plan to kill EVERYTHING and then resurrect it as his army and panicked. They tried everything, and by everything I mean throw rats and warpstone at it until it dies. The clans panicked so hard the council of 13 stopped infighting and put all grayseeers on deck to find a solution. They knew Nagash was basically immortal and any normal weapon couldn’t kill him so all the clans united in crafting the most concentrated radioactive evil version of warpstone from years of mining that was so volatile it killed many more engineers than expected and put it in dagger form, the dagger was so potent it needed a whole battalion of Skaven to transport it from Skavenblight to Nagashizar, as it killed every Skaven carrying it after a day or two even with their high tolerance for warpstone, so they basically played hot potato with a satan uranium dagger until they gave it to Alkadizar so he would kill Nagash, not only that, they sent elite warriors and 2 grayseers that died to help, and even if the dagger didn’t finish the job, it did permanently damage Nagash so every time he resurrects he does so in a weaker form. Skaven basically united all clans, made a nuke, started fighting smart and made something that could do permanent soul damage to kill Nagash and none of the chaos gods, nor the horned rat tried to stop them from doing a good deed. Such is the danger of Nagash.

He literally invented necromancy and is the greatest at it, such is the power of Nagash lol. Also his big bad spell would not only raise all the dead ... the cruicial thing is that it would kill any and all living being on the planet and then raise them for Nagash to puppet around. The Scaven did not like this plan so when they found out about it they crafted the Warpstone Dagger and sent off a war party to Nagashizar to deliver it to the captured king there ... out of that war party only those 3 Skaven were left cus the Dagger actively kills whomever is carrying it including the King. He stabbed Nagash with the last of his strenght. The "Kill all" part of the spell failed but the "raise all" worked, atleast in Not-Egypt lol

Something to note about Apophas (the dude made of scarabs), the deal he made with Usirian (Tomb king's god of the Underworld) was to find a soul that was a perfect match for his own to take his place in the underworld. The problem with this is Usirian knew no two souls are identical, Apophas doomed himself to an eternity of service without knowing it. So he did not become free after killing the norsca champion as DK said. (Although I only read this on the lexicanum and Warhammer fantasy fandom, as I don't have own a book taking about it, so I could be wrong if they got it wrong.)

a warning for you guys, if you research nagash lore don't take the books from black library about him as cannon, the mortuary cult won against nagash with the ushabti, not with cathayan gunpowder, Neferata did not capture Arkhan either, Arkhans skeleton was laying next to the black pyramid until nagash ressurected him, the nagash books made some strange changes, which make no sense from a lore perspective

So the usual GW handling of lore?
@SeanHoltzmanАй бұрын
@@TSInfiMa-r6z Arguably even worse, because this was before Loremasters or writers were allowed/required to talk with one another and do research/given detailed notes of notable events. So it often ended up like how Rings of Power did: Get rid of the legally required Lore Master because he said 'we specifically said dont touch this event or these characters' a month in, and then ruins every storyline of every notable character from theboriginal trilogy by putting them in eventa and places that ruin their story arcs completely 😅😂

DK reading off Settra's names for minutes and not reaching the end was peak. Despite how far in the past all of this was, it was one of the best Fantasy episodes yet.
@boredcryptek5513Ай бұрын
The best part, and it has been continually stated in this order every time i have watched a Settra lore video, is that Settra first conqueors everyone. And then he asks the Mortuary Cult what the hell is happening. He woke up, saw someone else shouting they were king, and choose violence first, logic second.
@cthulhubecausewhynot1182Ай бұрын
Nagash literally only loses because if he won, the setting would be over. Then again, I’m half expecting him to show up, chokeslam Vizzik Skour through the Tower of Kavzar, and blast Skavenblight back into the Realm of Ruin to finish the Vermindoom.
@jefrosiers8880Ай бұрын
An important fact I want you huys to know is that Nagash ressurected in the black pyramid eventually, he woke up, waged war against Settra, but settra having the brooch of a god that makes him immune to magic stomped him, Nagash fled to Nagashizar and then sent out scouts to find his crown to regain full power. Had sigmar not smashed in his skull Nagash would have been able to return to full power Nagashes return still caused undead to rise globally which was a big event in the lore, also upon fleeing to nagashizar he kills a skaven clan that had occupied his fortress there, and that had mined all the warpstone there

Honestly, if Settra put on the One Ring of Sauron or one of the 9 rings of Men, it would have done nothing. Or at least he would throw it away upon learning something or someone was trying to control him. And then hunt down Sauron for having the audacity to try and make Settra his pawn because Settra does not serve, Settra Rules. Step aside Tolkien and Martin, there’s a new king of the Men in the land and he’s making all of your ruler characters look like pathetic abs incompetent just by existing.
@garretthochmuth4522Ай бұрын
Settra: *puts on the One Ring* The Ring: "Listen to me. I can and will give you all you have ever wanted. All you need to do is heed me." Eru: "Do not listen to the voice. It is using you. Join my forces and serve a cause greater than yourself. Fulfill a purpose greater than anything you can image." And in return for your services, I will send you home. Settra: *turns visible while still wearing the ring* "Silence, Plebians! Settra Does Not serve, Settra RULES!" Sauron: *senses Settras willpower, arrogance, and stubbornness* 0.0 nervous "Ha ha, I'm in danger." Eru: *visible confusion* The elven ring bearers when they sense Settra putting on the ring: *Start crapping bricks* Gandalf, Saruman and the other wizards: *accepting the situation* “We’re so fucked.” Seriously though, Settra is ten times more competent than most Tolkien, GoT, Warhammer, Narnia characters. Because he takes action to stop the problem before it even becomes a problem.
@gerald2508Ай бұрын
As cool as I find this, that is not how it works, no amount of willpower can resist the One Ring; the only ways to ‘beat’ the ring are to either be more powerful than Sauron (at which point the ring betrays him to serve you) or to lack ambition. From the sounds of it Settra is literally the perfect person for the Ring to use, egotistical beyond belief, incredibly powerful, and sharing Sauron’s goal. He would be used by the One Ring because and not notice because there is no difference in their goals. The One Ring does not serve Sauron because he made it and put his life in it, it serves him because he is the most powerful being in Middle Earth. If Gandalf put on the ring it would have him conquer Mordor, become the better Sauron and either keep Sauron as an advisor or a prisoner.

A quick tip for painting the transitional style for the whisps (1:20:40): Put the two colors you want to use on the palette with enough space next to them to mix the colors and paint the start with your darker color. Paint the end part with your lighter color and then gradually mix in more and more of the lighter color with your dark color while painting each layer bordering the prior layer and overlapping a bit, if the contrast is too strong just mix in a bit more of the darker or lighter color. Finish with a wash/glaze of one of your used (pure) colors and then you are basically done. It sounds more challenging than it really is and you don't need to use an airbrush or drybrushing
