“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......

Hello HarriBest, This performance by Mr. Bobby Hatfield (R.I.P.) of The Righteous Brothers was one for the ages!!! It is absolutely "FIRE!!!" 🔥 This "Live" version is even better than the studio recording (which was used in the movie "Ghost"), because this one was done in 1 take before a TV audience with a live orchestra and the studio recorded version did not have the "crescendo" ending that this "Live" version has!!! Many other artist have covered this song, but in my humble opinion, Mr. Bobby Hatfield "OWNS" this song, no one has done it better than him and I don't think anyone ever will, as he absolutely "NAILED-IT!!!" Mic Drop!!! 🎤

From Wikipedia: ""Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. North wrote the music as a theme for the little-known prison film Unchained (January 1955),[1] hence the song title. Todd Duncan sang the vocals for the film soundtrack.[2] It has since become a standard and one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, most notably by the Righteous Brothers in 1965.[3] According to the song's publishing administrator, over 1,500 recordings of "Unchained Melody" have been made by more than 670 artists, in multiple languages" Both Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley did solos on their albums.

This song was originally recorded in 1955 for a movie Unchained. It has been covered perhaps more times than any other song, including a well-known rendition by Elvis Presley very shortly before his death. The Righteous Brothers recorded it in 1965, and is by far the most well-known. This live performance was done in 1965. This is Bobby Hatfield, the other "Righteous Brother" was Bill Medley. This really is Bobby Hatfield's song. Honorable mention, on June 21, 1977, two months before his death, Elvis Presley recorded a version of this song live in Rapid City, South Dakota, which was televised. As sick as he was, he pulled out a memorable performance that always chokes me up. You can find this on KZbin and it is worthy of reaction.

The Righteous Brothers (who I nicknamed "Thunder" & "Lightning") are a duo of Bill Medley (Thunder: Deep Baritone Voice) & Bobby Hatfield (Lightning: High Tenor Voice)...They performed many songs together and they also did some solo performances (as you just witnessed)...They have a deep "rabbit-hole" as well, but for starters if you want to see & hear them together, please react to the following songs: "You've Lost That Loving Feeling," Soul & Inspiration," "I Just Want To Make Love To You" and "Rock & Roll Heaven" you'll be glad you did because these brothers are known for their "Blue-Eyed-Soul" singing style!!!

This was a live performance on the Andy Williams show there were no do overs,auto-tone or gimmicks Just his God given voice from the heavens above Many before this and after him sang this song but Bobby Hatfield OWNS THIS SONG. His performance was effortless, smooth and sheer perfection. Bill Medley the other (Righteous Bros) was there and they sang together later in the show. They both did solos. Bobby Hatfield had the tenor voice and Bill Medley was the baritone voice they shouldn't have blended together but they did and it was pure magic. They were also known as The Blue Eyed Soul Bros because they sang from their hearts and souls every performance ♥️.

Harry, go back and look up The Andy Williams Show, 1965/ Righteous Bros. they all want together and there is banter back and forth. Andy asks them how they got their name. Side notes: Bobby Hatfield's mother was in the audience ( the lady in the blue dress to the left). It was her first time hearing Bobby sing professionally. He had a cold when he sang this on the show. You will hear the story of how Bobby got to sing this song. It was the B side of a record and the radio D.J. didn't like the A side song so flipped the record over to play Unchained Melody.....the rest is history. The song came from a prison movie entitled Unchained that came out in late 40's or early 50's. There were 3 recorded versions of the song (Al Hibbler's version being the most popular until Bobby recorded his version). This was a huge hit in 1965 and then enjoyed a revival when it was used in the Movie "Ghost" in the 90's(the pottery wheel scene w/ Demi Moore & Patrick Swayzie). There have been over 650+ covers of this song. Elvis covered it and there is video ( which I believe you said you reacted to) of it at Elvis' last concert. This version that Bobby Sang on the Andy Williams shoe is different from the recorded studio version. Bobby was on tv and his mom was there and millions would be watching, so Bobby gave us this version that showed his full range of vocal talent. Night's version is by far the best. So go back and watch what was performed with Andy before Bobby sang Unchained Melody.

This one was in 1965 on live TV. Sam Cooke did it in 1960s. But I don't think anyone could hit those notes besides Bobby. Unchained Melody by Sam Cooke was written by Alex North and Hy Zaret and was first released by Liberace in 1955. Sam Cooke released it on the album Hits of the 50's in 1960. You've Lost That Loving Feeling is one by the Brothers that was in the movie Top Gun so that one you should do too if you haven't. Bobby is the tenor and Bill is the baritone/bass voice so they blended very well and no, they weren't blood brothers. Bill is still doing the Righteous Brothers duo with another guy still and doing concerts, Bobby passed away in the early 2000s.
