To Australian citizens he is a hero. To the Australian Government, he is an enemy. Non disclosure of illegal activity regardless of established authorities is obstruction of justice. Here we have supposed impartial court blinded by bias. The law in of itself is illegal.

Agree 110%! This sentence is an absolute travesty and shows the Australian court system is as much of a joke as ours here in America! Being punished for exposing the truth shows McBride as a real human being and not a fake! The Fakes (Australian govt included), whether it's here in America or anywhere, will do anything (measure) possible to prevent their crimes from being exposed! And since McBride did the right thing the courts in Australia showed how little they care in regards to the victims of the crimes he was making known! But it's also further proof as to how coddled perpetrators are as opposed to the victim! To me David McBride did exactly what he should have!

samirayounan 1664 if you think the truth will eventually come out well don't be surprised if it doesn't and even if it does expect to wait years possibly even decades. The system has been over years been set up to protect the pollies the wealthy elite and of course our relationship with the United States, the pollies and their wealthy friends have armies of lawyers to protect themselves for decades so I wouldn't be holding my breath for change anytime soon if you are hoping for change well expect to be a lot older and greyer by the time it might happen.

@aflairforthedramatics to become a politician well firstly a person needs connections with you guessed it a political party so their in itself is the problem the major political parties are very much tied to the yanks they have way too much tied up with the US to accept someone who would want to change the system. Then there are the few independents like Andrew Wilkie who is at the end of the day a one man band so the two major political parties just push back bigtime as for people winging about pollies well that ain't going to change so the shitshow keeps on going.

He did. Primarily because the single complaint he filed was rejected, so he spent over 18 months copying and taking ADF documents and files and then releasing them to the ABC. Not sure if a single attempt of trying to raise a concern is justifiable but also not sure other attempts would have been summarily dismissed either. It’s a fine line with these types of cases I think. One thing is for sure, whistleblower laws need a complete overhaul and better reporting methods are required as well as better protections. I’m just not sure how you blow the whistle on something like this, which has National security implications as gathering the evidence is always going to be illegal I would think?

David McBride stood for what was right but the Australian govt and it's courts deliberately failed him because the FAKES had been found out! Just like in America when the political administration and it's climate only care about destruction and keeping their hypocrises under lock and key so they'll go to any lengths to protect their own secrets, just like the military personnel McBride had outed
