A soothing menu (like the dopamenu) is such a great idea! I know that when I get overwhelmed my brain shuts off and coming up with ways to self soothe can be tricky. Having a list like the dopamenu would definitely be super useful.

I appreciate your conversation about affordable options for support and pregnancy items! The internet has so many videos/articles about what you "need" to have and it can feel like you're already failing if you can't afford them. A resource I frequently recommend to pregnant and recently postpartum friends is your local library! So many libraries will have groups for expectant and new parents with amazing resources. Librarians are often super connected to their community so if you're struggling to find support, they can be an awesome place to start looking for free and affordable resources!

Also, your pickle story made me cry laugh haha I had a similar moment when I wanted a pb&j during my second trimester but my husband (who is very tall) had put the bread on a shelf waaaay to high for me. I knew I shouldn't be climbing on the counter but there was no other way to get the bread, which lead to me calling my husband and work, crying about how much I wanted a pb&j lmao. He ended up calling a neighbor to come get it down for me!

Prep everything time 💖 I really was more or less finished with preparations before 3rd trimester, and through out the 3rd trimester I was so grateful to myself for not having to worry, carry or do much of anything... And it was kinda cozy being able to imagine how it would be after arrival 💖

Yes i 2nd this! Always better to plan ahead so you’re not scrambling last min. Especially when you’re close to giving birth. I had my hospital bag & baby’s diaper bag packed about 1-2 weeks before i gave birth.

That’s why I love this channel so much! It’s funny (to me) how I accidentally set up helpful hacks to overcome some of the ADHD issues, even before I was diagnosed. I literally have a playlist called HAPPY. It’s my go to when I’m sad or anxious and I want to feel happy 😊. I also have a sad but hopeful playlist for when I’m struggling with anxiety but unsure as to what I’m really feeling or why.

I've worked opposite shifts for a long time. I've worked in childcare so I could have my kids in it (I left because of management reasons). I'm currently mowing the neighbor's yard (I'm in a tiny town) and doing odds and end jobs like office work for my church that I can either bring the kids with or wait until my husband is home. I also do everything I can to lower our bills.

Family medical history! I wish I had known that we had a long history of gallstones, which can show up in pregnancy. If I had known ahead I likely wouldn't have been in so much pain the last trimester and a half.

There is a topic I'd like to propose (if you are interested, of course), which was part of my pregnancy experience. I found some studies that estrogen helps with ADHD symptoms, and that's why it's common to have it easier during pregnancy. My second trimester was just that, and it was the last reason for me to decide on getting diagnosed (it is really hard to get diagnosed in my country as an adult, and I was really hesitant of that - maybe I am just lazy, clumsy and forgetful, maybe it's just my lack of organizational skills etc. I'll still wait until after breasfeeding and getting hormones to a usual level, though). But the second trimester was... It felt like people who are medicated describe being medicated. I finally felt that the voices and thoughts in my head would almost be gone, it was much easier to get things done, to remember, to think clearly, to feel emotionally stable (yeah, that's wierd, but that's what pregnancy did to me). Until the second haf of the third trimester I felt that awesome, and without trying harder or actually doing something special. So maybe that's something to research more, is it common, why is it like that etc.?

Imagine having to give your kid medicine, at strict hour, when he doesn't want, cries, kicks and screams. It's another level of hell. Taking my own vitamins feels like a breeze nowadays, compared to what I had to go through when my kid was little and was splitting his meds he really needed

Why do you have a baby, when you know your ADHD is likely to pass on to your child? That’s so evil! I have ADHD and I will never have a kid. Suffering ends with me.
@flyby30793 ай бұрын
Clearly that was her choice & NOT your choice. I myself know quite a few moms with ADHD & I happen to be one & wouldn’t change my kids for the world. Way to be so judgy af though.
@mmkTTS3 ай бұрын
@@flyby3079 You wouldn’t change your kids for the world because they make you happy. But it is not your happiness, but your kids’ happiness that should concern you when you decides to have a kid. Giving birth to a child, when you know that the child will suffer, simply because it will make you happy is so selfish and evil act. You shouldn’t have made such an evil choice.
@flyby30793 ай бұрын
@@mmkTTS lol happiness is what you make out of life. Just because someone has ADD or ADHD, it doesn’t mean they’re suffering as you put it or letting it define their whole life. There are plently of famous people who have it like Michael Phelps who are thriving. He spoke candidnly about having ADHD & mentioned swimming was an outlet for being hyper & for him to focus on because he was really good at swimming.
@mmkTTS3 ай бұрын
@@flyby3079 You may say they overcame their ADHD. But you can’t say ADHD is not suffering that people need to either accept or overcome. There may be a small minority of people that benefit from ADHD. But for majority of people ADHD is setback, and for some it’s great suffering. Thus if you give birth to a child when you have ADHD, you are taking a highly probable risk in making someone suffer. If that’s not evil, what is?
