A loved family member used Ritalin for a few months in two school years before he was 10. He turned into a skinny, blackeyed shadow of his former larger than life persona. But he quit the Ritalin, because he settled maybe 40- 50 %, enough for him to be accepted as a pupil. Agree, few children benefit from sitting on a chair all day long listening to more or less boring or on the other hand to difficult curriculum for a kid that develop so very different. Boys are generally more playful in an affective way while girls handle the sitting still å little better because they can keep communicating during classes, boys cant do that without being cought and punished as a bad or not intelligent to sit for a whole day doing nothing. Home schooling is not accepted here in Norway. CCP have all power and will use that as an argument to take the kids away from the family. Private schools are accepted but are at the same time punished by the state whom cut funding or just close schools down. The only thing a parent can do is to cooperate and do exactly what CCP wants or move to another part of the country, as parents her in the political correct Norwegian society where being woke is the only option. Democratic institusions is turned up side down. Norway used to be a good land but has changed i to a hyper capitalist country where sosialism is the only right way of thinking or lack of. The elite are emerging with the EU. Cognitive dissonanse is a way of life, the new normal.

How about we don't give children dangerous drugs

That’s a great idea! Here in Australia Doctors drug our children because the parents are stupid. These drugs aren’t even TGA approved so parents and children are taking huge risks. So are we saying it’s illegal to prescribe these drugs? Doctors prescribing “off script”!

Like with any drug, it depends on whether the risks of not taking it outweigh the benefits of taking it in an individualized context.

My daughter has severe ADHD and was struggling to learn bc she couldn’t pay attention. Within a week of her being put on meds we all saw a HUGE difference in her ability to learn and retain information. She was so behind in reading and in 1 year she caught up completely.

Unfortunately, stimulant medications can cause protracted withdrawals Ive learned firsthand. It has been 3.5 years since I quit and my degrees now serve as paperweights. My sleep patterns are a wreck, cognition and memory destroyed, and my mood fluctuates throughout the day. I can't imagine having taken these medications as a child and then thinking how I am now during withdrawals is how I was born rather. I'm grateful for having a clear understanding of how well i perform without ever having touched the medications, so i can pinpoint it's the medications that were the problem

@@aprilhassell1747 it was Adderall and Vyvanse on my end. I was only on for 1 year and yet, my body is still fluctuating as after this much time. I'm pretty sure I've finally reached the end of the hell, but the time and opportunities lost, and constant suffering for half a decade... These drugs should come with a black label warning like benzos or taken off the market

ADHD meds helped me very much with social situations, confidence and school. BUT i had a psychosis due to stress + hyperthyroidism, and the medikinet combined. I would recommend for people to try strattera if you are intrested in trying the medication. Also workout and keep a good sleep schedule and don't use lots of coffee and NO nicotine products. Also remove toxic people from your life.

My school reports cards were the dsm 3 for add in 90’s.., comments like “she needs to organise her thoughts so that she can speak more clearly”. It’s really disappointing nobody told my mum I needed a pass they just complained about my talking or calling out but said A for effort.. meanwhile I’m getting b’s and c’s. Switch forward I’m not calling out as much but having issues with learning difficulty concentrating. Misdiagnoses as just anxiety few yrs into uni, but not for another 8 yrs I’ve got the adhd diagnosis and onto stimulants. I loved that the stimulant didn’t have withdrawals like the Prosac but also it helped my severe brain for really well

ADHD is not always characterized by hyperactivity. There is also inattentive type. They are less likely to get diagnosed because they internalize and do not stand out. I am a special education teacher who, as much as I may not like kids using medication, have seen kids helped enormously by it. For some it can make a big difference. The funny thing is, kids with ADHD are able to hyperfocus on things that interest them. Very similar to kids with autism.

I have found that vyvanse and concerta has least amount of side effects. When i compare it to antidepressants it's different story. It's like our next month is ruined when you stop then, but then again i can be weekend off or even longer from adhd medication and i don't have any probelm.

Doctor, what You this about this guildline from 1969-Methylamphetamine (Methedrine) can be given orally in 5-10 mg. doses as an alternative to dexamphetamine. Its main use, however, is by intravenous injection with or without a barbiturate to produce an abreaction in tense, obsessional patients. Such patients often have difficulty in ventilating resentment and hostility, but with the aid of intravenous methylamphetamine their feelings may be released with considerable relief of tension and any associated somatic symptoms.

Why do we keep finding new species of insects? Human knowledge is always limited and psychology just wasn't that well researched. Over time you find new things people struggle with, give them names and do your best to figure out how to help, be it by medication or, preferably, therapy.

can give cardiovascular disease in near future if I remember correctly. I wouldn't recommend meds for adhd at all. I took ritalin and it gave me instant pssd and probably rcvs/serotonin syndrome. It's hard to find proof but the literature that I can find suggests and correlates with my symptoms.

One of the things that saved my life, but I was diagnosed as an adult. Wish I was never misdiagnosed as an 18 year old (or so, maybe 19) with G.A.D., and never given Effexor XR. It helped me even at 31,.. when putting the half way mark and final touches on my Post Finasteride Syndrome Recovery. Not doing too amazing right this second, because I got distracted during the pandemic / lockdown, and pushed away countless relationships, mostly because I was still traumatized trying to get into LAW, without letting people know I was only self employed. And without being social, I became more and more isolated.... And Yeah I was my most attractive. And ADHD medicine makes you more isolated. recovering from PFS, I worked out like a soldier all of 2018 as well as ate perfectly. This is expensive to keep up. The lockdown made it hard to recognize, talk to, befirend others... but I had everything outside and most of what I needed inside... and I feel really down now, but to make a schedule/ routine again, I'll need that. I think no drinking, no bad food, and no obesity as a child would have happened had I been put on dexedrine as a kid. I was really smart as a kid but had bad habits. Alcohol and cocaine at 19 and 22 respectively. Coke helped me get better grades in Uni... lol, but yeah ADHD medicine helped me align my work ethic, meditation, things like that to my ideal self and life and stay sober. Dexedrine>>>> all psyche meds and I wouldn't mess with hormones, finasteride, etc either. Running definitely helped but weights/ strength training and keeping rest times short (under a min), and doing high volume workouts def helps too a lot. Ideally working out twice and walking pre sunrise or like 5am to 7am... and then studying/ working and then socializing later. Nice video mate.
