I actually did see Double Eagle Very Rare at a bar in San Antonio back in 2019. $750 for a 2oz pour. They also had EHT Amaranthe for $26 for 2oz. Amaranthe was very good.

After a couple bumps you won't know/care about the difference between Pappy and Jim Beam White, you'll just want another bump. I quit chasing whiskey around the time pedestrian ass Eagle Rare (a no-name knock-off of Wild Turkey the first 20 years of its life) became the most popular whiskey in the country, lol. The whiskey world is no better than the Instagram sneaker hype-beast culture at this point. It's fun to watch people make horrible life choices spending $2k on a $120 bottle or 20k on a $2000 bottle, not gonna lie

The word you're looking for at the 8:00 mark is: MINERAL. That's the note that jumps out to a lot of people when trying aged or high proof Dickel products for the first time. It's also what translates into that "Flintstone vitamin" note that many people call out with Dickel. Great video as always - thanks Matt!

The Eagle Rare 17 is a lottery here in BC /w BTAC Lineup. Friggin real hard to get. But if you win the lottery I think its $200, could be mistaken and might be $250. Still reasonable I think for a regular human.

Love me some normal eagle rare 10, haven't had either of these and most likely won't anytime soon. I've never seen a bottle I could buy, and I've never even seen a bar offering pours of 17, let alone double eagle. Thankfully I always have an open bottle of 10 year in my house, and a backup bottle too. My absolute favorite sub $50 bourbon.

I got a chance to taste Double Eagle Very Rare in Vegas once. It was a great experience. No I didnt pay for it someone else did. I have been lucky enough to find 2 bottles of ER 17 for myself. I didnt get to taste them head to head but based on memory, I think I too would chose the ER17. Great Video Matt!!
