Thanks for telling me about this: it was fun! I've managed to try the O.F.C. 1993 and the Double Eagle Very Rare (just a small pour of each), but haven't encountered the Weller Millennium (yet!). I suppose the most expensive-looking (and actually expensive!) packaging I've got is for the Ledaig 42 Year Old Dùsgadh, which incorporates some of the copper from the retired stills that were used to make it...

@@yourdrinkingbuddy Well, for whiskey over 40 years old it really needs to be Scotch (or, at a pinch, Irish or Canadian - I have one of the latter at 42 years). The Ledaig is my oldest single malt; I have three other single malts at 40 and one at 41, then there are single grains at 41, 48 and 50 years old. The oldest I've tasted was a 62 year old Glen Grant - it was gorgeous! (But £150/~$195 for 25ml!)

Funny you mentioned something about the edges on the side by side... i picked up the JD Twice Barreled Rye and did a side-by-side with the regular JDSBBP Rye and I said the same thing the Twice barreled was like a polished version of the JDSBBP Rye as if rhey took ultra-fine sand paper and smoothed out all the edges.
