Adios 6 were such a perfect shoe. Just throw them on and go. No mess no fuss. Mine are over a year old now and the outsole is barely worn down! they are the most nimble shoes I’ve ever run in. Can’t wait to pick up the 7s!!!

I'm up to 414 miles now in my adios 6 and they are still going strong. I use them for tempo runs, track and park runs and they always feel like a bit of a secret weapon. It's a mystery to me that more people don't pick these up. I'm sure that if they had a Nike swoosh down the side they would be on everyone's feet.

My adios 4 lasts forever before it dies on me because it’s already a firm ride from the start and the BOOST foam lasts. I wear out the rubber before the midsole gives out They perform just as well as any supershoes. Ran marathons in them and they felt fine. Great ground feel, much more nimble than any supershoes. Personal taste I suppose. The only clear advantage supershoes have over these racing shoes is recovery. You do recover faster with supershoes . But well, there’s a also a big price difference 😄

Good to hear they work for you..I can't use any adidas shoes that have that torsion plastic gizmo in the midsole..about like being slapped with a steel strap on the bottom of your foot..I like the Takumi Sen 8,the midsole of the pro 3 and surprisingly the SL20.2, which I've heard bad things about..1 positive for them is the outsole..traction is great..the SL20.2 makes a great park run shoe cos the ground,the grass and gravel all cushion enough to take the bite out of a 5k racing shoe..I use these types as my speed shoes for dirt,grass and gravel..fortunately adidas and others make cushioned shoes for pavement and longer runs..besides variety is definitely the spice of life..watching others choices of shoes is a great pastime of mine..

I really wanted to buy the adios 6. But when I tried it on the store, the very narrow midfoot platform makes my low arch hanging on the medial side of the shoe, while the rest of the shoe fits perfectly. Not the shoes' fault. I have this weird narrow but low arched foot. pretty gutted.. 😐

thats good to know, hopefully a little stronger, if they also fall apart after only 3 months of light use, then we have a problem :) Typically i have used all the other adios versions for about 16 months of running, prob clocking up about 1600km of running, and then after retiring them due to cushioning degradation, i carry on using them as normal shoes for a further 3-5 years! no chance of that with these new flimsy iterations :( I do appreciate the super light feel, but we need them to last! @@EDDBUD

Getting mad to save a tenth of ounce with see-through heel counter and making such an ugly suede bumper in the front sounds to me like the perfect oxymoron. And its flashing white totally ruins the otherwise sweet racing line colorway. I'd probably buy them anyway, because I like all the other good stuff Adidas put into for a daily trainer/tempo/moderate racer shoe at a reasonable price, but frankly I'd be compelled to choose a less embarrassing colorway; your comparison to the Ford Capri says it all ... ;-)

@@EDDBUD No doubt shoe quality is great ! Most of all, as I understand from your thorough review, it's absolute versatility is the key. Aestethically preference are as a matter of fact, a very subjective issue. To me, that white suede toebox on black upper is a slap in the face. Is that the highest score you have ever given? I have to give adidas full marks for finally offering these in my TTS UK 13.5 after years of "squeezing" into them :) In this day and age they are rather a throwback to shoes of old when less was more especially for racing type ones although these were a lot more cushioned than they actually looked so aren't "flats" per se. Have to remember marathon world records were set in earlier versions of this shoe and I used to use them (well Adios 1) for all my workouts and races including a marathon until about 4 years ago. Got to like a relatively firm shoe but they did seem to soften up a bit after a few miles. They are probably a bit narrow for many runners (so fit me great!) but there is a wide version don't forget. I have also picked up the Boston 11 and it is pretty much the same but just beefed up so a bit more obvious for daily training and longer runs. Despite the weight I rather liked it and think they compliment each other well perhaps unlike when the Boston was only a bit more than the Adios.

I almost bought the shoe after your review especially when I could get it for like €70 in a limited time promo. But then I came across a lot of complaints from people having chafings, blisters and even bleeding from their small toes because of the lacing on the top outer side of the upper. Many of them reported tears in the upper in the same area, right behind the stripe of fabric. That's probably because the shoe is so narrow as you pointed out, but many of complaints come from people with narrow feet, that never had such issues with other running shoes in their life. I'm backing off for now. Not many reviews out there yet, which is kinda weird tbh.

One of my worst runs I’ve had, not complaining about the sole of the shoe, it was the upper material that hurts, when running the materia would crease in to my feet and it would dig in my toes like if I had sand every time, the lockdown for me was average it felt a bit loose from the back, it needs some more padding, the upper killed this shoe for me too stiff not pleasant and it does feel clunky I don’t like this shoe after my first run, will still give it another chance because I did play football (soccer) the prior day so my feet might be a bit tender after playing, but first run with these wasn’t pleasant.

Would you do track intervals ranging from 200-2000m in them? Or better use the Takumi Sen 8 for that? Looking for a “low” stack forefoot/midfoot striker friendly track workout shoe 🤔

Sen or this one for that. The outsole has more bite than a hungry squirrel.

I dont know,I found the Adios 6 a bit firm(have the Jackie Joyner-Kersee edition), had the bottom of my feet feeling fatigued. I'll pass on these being it looks too similar to the 6. Hopefully the 8 will bring a total redesign (same wish when the Boston 12 is released nxt yr)

Thanks for the review Edd. I bought the Adios 6 - your review informed part of that decision making. I'm a cheeky little fartlek runner, so I was excited about this shoe. TLDR - I had to bin them, because they kept injuring me, here's why: sizing issues - I'm a natural UK 8.5, when adidas can get their shit together that makes me a UK 9. Adios 6, I tried UK9, UK9.5, UK10, UK10.5 - that's how fucked up their sizing is here, LOL. The UK9.5 positioned my heel, arch, and ball of foot perfectly, but the toe box just chopped the tips my little toes - I have narrow feet with a high arch. So, I HAD no option but to select the UK10 - which allowed my toes perfect spread, but positioned the ball of my foot in the wrong place, and left the ankle slipping. I ended up with sprains in groin, knees, and ankles. I'm thinking that this shoe is probably great for tall people with big feet. I didn't like the Dutch Clog clippity cloppity sounds it makes when you speed walk either. This shoe is seriously flawed. I have also discovered that I hate foam outsole running shoes in general after fucking with Saucony Peregrins, and Asics GEL-NIMBUS (over the past couple of years) - more injuries! I do a lot of trail running, and parkour too - the ultraboost terrex agravic flows were perfect for these activities - but they too have been discontinued and replaced with this litestrike crapola - in the SL20.2 stack - for a trail shoe! I enjoy your reviews. Keep up the good work!

how bout the sizing on these? Im using uk10.5 in SL20 v1... My Nike Shoes are Uk10/Euro 45... However, I found that Adios 7 tend to run a bit longer but still have the narrow width.. Should I stay with uk10.5 or pick uk10 instead?

I finally get my adios 7 with a good deal of 20% cashback on adidas outlet. I was mostly using novablast 2 as my daily trainer, and surprisingly i like the firmer and snappy feeling on this one. The only problem i got was blisters on both of my heels after just a 5k run.

What's your barefoot score? So would you say this is a better shoe than the Peg 39? Less versatile, but faster and lighter weight? I bought those Invincible 2's and my peg 39's feel like cement now. I may be cursed to always wear squishy shoes now.

I think it’s down to foam types. Some are better in a lower profile form. Others superb in large stacks. Barefoot on uk roads. No chance.

I'm looking for an adidas shoe to run my first marathon in October. I currently do almost all of my training in the SL20.2 which I really like (I also use the adistar but I don't get on with that shoe). I don't want to spend the money on the Adios Pro shoes, and wanted your thoughts on using the Adios 6/7 as my race shoe?
@mileivanov6765
@mileivanov6765 2 жыл бұрын
I have both of them (adios 6 and SL20.2) and I think that SL20.2 is a little bit softer and more forgiving especially if you are doing longer intervals or tempo runs. In terms of speed, thy are almost identical in my case. I prefer the adios 6 for shorter intervals and fartlek runs, but the SL20.2 offers more comfort for tempo runs. I've used the adios 6 for a half marathon race and my legs felt very sore after the race. I would not recommend them for races longer than 10km. For marathon training and racing, I would buy some higher stack and bouncier shoes such the Saucony Endorphin Speed/Pro, Fuelcell RC Elite or the Adios Pro series.

Does it still have that roll that forces you to pronate onto the big toe on toe off? I loved my 6’s but already roll onto medial side of forefoot when I toe off, as I’m a neutral efficient runner, and the roll to the inside the sole forces in the forefoot gave me Achilles issues. Thanks! I do like the lower more “normal” stack heights of shoes like this. I do not like the rocker sole or high stacks of the majority of todays shoes.
