Nike shifted to maximum revenue, aka high volumes and less innovative and that's when people left. I have a LARGE sneaker collection and at the moment nike basketball is just copy/pasting Kobe's silhouettes for 4 different models, and that shows how lazy they've become. I'm happy the running community is more democratic and less about "image" like how the bball community is, which nike losing running shares is the biggest slap in the face. Hopefully they'll wake up.

46:25 -- I disagree with "The weird thing to me is the consumer that thinks they have to be wearing a legal shoe." Fairness is good. I don't want to see fellow runners wearing illegal shoes, blood doping, cutting the course, using bib mules, or using whatever other methods of cheating exist. Hobbyists aren't going to suddenly become Olympians with illegal shoes, but it is still nice to have a level playing field.

Nike lost me when they became less about sports and more about social issues. I think I have some company. Happy to spend my dollars elsewhere.

Inflation is always caused by money printing. Supply and demand issues affect the pricing of specific items in the short term but if you price things in gold, there has been virtually no inflation for the last 100 years. Even since the times of ancient Rome a high end tailored suit (tunic at that time) has cost about one ounce of gold. You can still exchange an ounce of gold for a high end, tailored suit today.

In Rome and in other ancient civilizations that used metal currencies, they would reduce the metal content of their coins aka debasing the currency.
