When I was confronted with the choice of buying either an Adidas Adios Pro 3 and the Nike Vaporfly 3, I didn't choose the Adios Pro 3 because of its stiff foam. Looking at this review and seeing how they squished the new lightstrike foam, the foam creases and compresses like the PEBA foam on the Vaporfly 3. I might give these Adios Pro 4 a serious consideration when I'm looking for another pair of running shoes.

The Pro 3 is an absolutely amazing shoe!! The lightstrike pro foam is just perfect 👌🏻 I seriously doubt you would have any regrets buying the pro 4 and this is coming from a huge Nike fan!

I think the biggest detriment has to be the energy rods. I've had them snap on multiple pairs, when the foam and rubber coverage still had much life left. The rods are a gimmick and they should quietly move away from them. Having the 5 rods instead of one plate increases the likelihood of it snapping x 5 x more fragility overall in rod vs plate. I love the Adios Pro, but it would be so much better and durable without the rods.

i find the sizing of pro3 odd. i go for 10.5US, with pro3 had to size down to 9.5US. hope pro4 fixed that

Just refer to the Japanese sizing or centimeter (CM) next time, all your shoes should then come in the same size in CM regardless of the US/UK sizing.

@@superalpha8652 i always do. exactly what i have been doing for the past 14 years. with pro3, had to go with 27.5cm instead of my usual 28.5cm. i can go 28cm but got to wear very thick socks.

Oh no… the midsole is softer. Exactly what I didn’t want to hear. That was the standout feature of the Pro3, no mush, just super lively and springy midsole goodness. Now it seems to be another super soft racer. Hugely disappointing. All they had to do was to change the upper and leave the rest as is.

Looks like the inner heel padding is the same as the Pro 3, so if you had heel lift issues with that shoe, the Pro 4 will be equally as bad. Adidas looked like they were moving towards either fully connecting the heel padding bumpers and greatly reducing the spacing between them, but maybe they are only doing that with their more daily offerings...which is unfortunate. I had to gift my pair of Boston 12's to someone who the heel works great for. Thankfully we are blessed with many great or better super shoes which can suit the uniqueness of all of our different feet.

@@paulmulks That's the thing, everyone's feet are different. Nike's heel padding design works flawless for me, but I could see how it could irritate some people's achilles.

@timtrenholm3698 Same again, I never have any issues with Nike shoes either thankfully. Only brands I tend to struggle with in regards to fit are New Balance and Hoka and that's normally because their sizing is slightly smaller than say Nike or Adidas
