Having used both shoes for my saturday morning tempo run on the same course Ive done for years with my time always being very close I found to my surprise that the SL20.2 is faster and more comfortable.

Yes Andreas, it was my same feeling, even though initially my expectation was the other way around... strange things are happening... 😊

Adios6 such an epic shoe, tried it and bought 3 more pairs

Great review. I was looking for exactly this comparison as I was unsure which one to go for. I think I will stick with Adidas SL20.2 (currently have a pair of first generation sleep which I like, they are a good pair to use in running rotation)

Thank you so much Ciprian, I'm glad it was helpful! Today I ran with the SL20.2, it is a versatile shoe which I like despite I believe the first version was even better, but still I it is a good value for money and a nice to have in our rotation

@@runningwithstelvio Yes, I will let you know. I ran in them yesterday and feel really good. It has a rocker system in the forefoot area.
@runningwithstelvio3 жыл бұрын
@@runningwithdr.andrewdpt9177 I like the shoes with the rocker in the forefoot, because the guide the stride and I helped me a lot during the tempo run. Looking forward to hear from you :-)

I'm using US 9 on a Nike Zoom Pegasus 38, do I have to use the same size in this shoe too?
@runningwithstelvio2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kerad, with the Nike I use the US9.5 size with the Adidas the US10 size, so half size more for me it's working. I like to wear the shoe without leaving too much space in the toe for both brands, Nike and Adidas

Please don't call me a nitpicker, but the drop measurement for SL20.2 is 8.5 ... (if 21 - 12.5 are correct) ;-) I ran about 120k in the OG SL20, and noticed after few break-in runs Lightstrike seems to have softened a bit. Most of the distance was on light trails and not paved roads. It's only me, or it's this foam's normal behaviour ?
@runningwithstelvio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Massimo, I double checked it, the drop is 9.5mm and you are right, I inverted the decimal part in the stack height. Thanks for having noticed it 👍 Yes, I also noticed it, after a while the lightstrike softens but remains responsive. I noticed it in the SL20 version 1 but also in the RC2, definitely a positive thing because at the beginning it is really stiff. Thanks for watching and for your support 😊
@davedavedave2433 жыл бұрын
No not just you, that's how Lightstrike works, the SL20 V1 was too firm to run in for me out of the box (knee breakers lol) so I used them to walk in for about 20km, before trying to run again. Short max effort hill sprints first (felt great at high tempo), then I guess after about 30km became soft enough to run in normally (moderate runs and above). I find it quite a satisfying foam to run in, its got a nice feel to it. The lightsrike in the Adios 6 breaks in much quicker, again firm in the heel out of the box, but had broken in and felt comfortable within 3km of first run. Don't know if this is to do with the stack height or if Adidas have changed the blend of the lightstrike a little

@@davedavedave243 thank you so much ! I’ve just completed a 5 miler with about 600ft of vertical gain (the first half) in almost new Adizero Pro, and I agree with you about Lightstrike. After 20/30 miles the overall feeling is much more comfortable yet responsive.
@runningwithstelvio3 жыл бұрын
@@davedavedave243 yes I also noticed that in the Adios 6. Not sure but yes It could be the stack height in the heel, Hopefully it will get better and better with the km 🤞

Would SL20 2.0 be able to handle marathon workouts inside of 18-22mile long runs?
@runningwithstelvio2 жыл бұрын
I guess so, but of course it depends from your pace. For a faster runner I would suggest a more responsive shoe
@joshuaestrada14492 жыл бұрын
@@runningwithstelvio got it, good to know. Pace would be around 5:30 per mile or marathon. I’ll look elsewhere. Thank you

@@joshuaestrada1449 I would rather suggest the Adios 6 in this case
