It's simple. SL2 is a sneaker for everyday slow running with the ability to speed up. EvoSL is a fast sneaker for training at a tempo with the ability to do slow jogs. Just choose what you need more.

SL2 is actually a good all rounder shoe, even can handle light trail running due to decent toe bumper overlays
@caseous693 күн бұрын
Maybe this is more a comment on my own limitations than the shoe’s, but I went from my Novablast 5 to straight into the Evo SL at the local adidas store yesterday, and the NB5 just felt more comfortable for me. Just puts a smile on my face every time I lace them. 😅
@Majesty_S_Snowbird3 күн бұрын
It's not you at all. The EVO SL is just a narrower, faster shoe but the NB5s are wider and a lot more cushioned and stable. Better for your daily runs.
@CMDV8N33 күн бұрын
@@caseous69 That’s good info. How do they compare?
@mrne14333 күн бұрын
The Novablast is all about delivering cushioning, comfort and bounce in a daily trainer. I'm pretty sure you'll get similar feelings with any comfort oriented shoes like the Supernova Prima, Nimbus, NB 1080s, or even any Hokas or Skechers. But what you won't get with the Novablast 5 is the world class energy return and resilience from the Lightstrike Pro that is in the Evo SL. Both of these shoes work together quite well.
@caseous693 күн бұрын
@ I’ve run in lightstrike pro shoes and have a pair of vaporflys. Also own 2 pairs of nimbuses. Novablast is different. It’s not the energy return of a plated super shoe - but it’s also not pillowy comfort like the nimbus. It’s a great balance of fun and comfort, and just makes you happy when you’re running in them… or at least it makes me smile when I run in them. Again, could just be my taste and my ergonomics.
@caseous693 күн бұрын
@@CMDV8N3 bounces a little more firmly, slightly less comfortable and stable than the nb5 (though not uncomfortable nor unstable), and rocker encourages you to go. And admittedly I prefer the aesthetic of the Evo SL - it looks aggressive in just the right way on foot. It’ll probably run a little faster than the nb5, but the feeling of nb5 makes me happy when I’m running, so I guess the preference is more subjective than objective.

Getting the sl2
@scottrobinson46114 күн бұрын
I’ve got average-width feet, but in the SL2 I can’t help but get blisters. I love how the shoe feels underfoot, but it’s quite narrow and rubs the inside of my feet at the ball/knuckle, and leaves nasty blisters. I’ve tried changing lacing, I’ve tried very different socks. Short of wrapping my feet in tape, nothing alleviates this issue. It’s frustrating because otherwise this is a great shoe.

Same here 😢. Did get some improvement by changing the insoles with some old SL20 OG ones... But I did get blisters eventually as well. So I gave up and and I recently got a pair of supernova Rise. Not quite as versatile but my feet are happy again 😊

Just ordered a pair of Superblast 2. Do I need both the EVO SL and the Superblast 2? My purpose with the Superblast is to use it on long runs (20-30km). Can Evo SL handle that as good as the Superblasts?
@chrixmll3 күн бұрын
I did some medium long runs (at least for me) around 24-26km, perfectly fine and fun with the EVO SL, I also have Superblast 2 for 30km+, but I feel EVO SL easily could do this too

I got the EVO SL in my TTS and they fit slightly too short for my taste as well compared to my Boston 12s which are TTS. I like a small amount of space in the front and not a 'race fit'. I'll be returning them and waiting again for a release somewhere to pickup half a size bigger. For reference my Asics Superblast 1 are also TTS.

I’m a big fan of the new Adidas Evo SL, Adios 9 etc.
@CMDV8N33 күн бұрын
@@vincewarne228 So many great Adidas shoes right now, but in theory, Evo SL maybe cancels out at least three of them (SL2, Adios 9, Boston 12).

@ - I got the Adios 9, I fancied something lower and lighter for track sessions - I’m in the draw again for the Evo SL which I’m expecting to use in place of Speed 4s when they’ve gone (and wanting less shoe than getting another pair of Superblasts)

Got the takumi sen 10 on 35% off( cheaper than the adios 9 and evo sl). My first takumi. Compared with my adios 8, ts10 is much better overall. Originally planning on getting either the evo sl or adios 9 for interval/fartlek runs. But since the takumi is cheaper and been wanting to try them since V8, it was an easy decision for me. Upper is spot on for me. It’s like a better vaporfly 2 upper. Midsole stack and geometry works well for me.
@CMDV8N34 күн бұрын
I found SL2 has absolutely zero arch support and makes my feet roll inward, even with orthotics (which I’ve never had to use before). I’m hoping this isn’t the case with other Adidas shoes I’m interested in line Adios 9, Evo SL and Boston… Anyone have a pov?
@jeffbarnard3483 күн бұрын
Boston is more stable for sure, I had both, it doesn't roll in. I know what you're talking about, although it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would while running in the SL2. The Evo SL is said to be better in this regard with more foam on the medial side and no aggressive cutouts
@CMDV8N33 күн бұрын

Which of these 2 shoes is more durable? Is the combination of the foams in the SL2 more durable than the complete light strike Pro mid some in the EVO SL?

Am I the only one that like running shoes and wear them daily for everything?? I still have 1080v11, no real complaints about it except I now want more stack height from the shoes so I got myself a pair of 1080v13. But then with the v13, I find it kinda too squishy and somewhat get tired easily from walking on it all day (like it takes more effort to walk if that makes sense). For those who like somewhat max stack/max cushion shoes for all day wearing, which pair are you rocking?
@JDeezle214 күн бұрын
SL2 rubber sucks in the wet on track and on road besides that the traction in ok but the shoe is good besides that. Likes a higher running pace. Good high school track practice shoe.
@Jon-hb6gx4 күн бұрын
Agree. For recovery days on the wet, I leave it at home and take the Velocity Nitro 2, even though I'd prefer the cushion of the SL2.

Never had a problem in the wet with SL2 have found them grippy in all road conditions..i predominantly a forefoot striker..personally think how our foot hits the ground has a bearing on grip..great we have such a wide range of shoes these days to suit all
@Jon-hb6gx3 күн бұрын
@@Garymanders Hopefully you don't find them slippy at the wrong moment - dodgy turn or dodgy surface or oily section. They are average in terms of outsole grip but average isn't good enough in countries like the UK, I find.

Half a size up (8 US) for me was perfect. I fitted in my normal size (7.5 US) but just about; practically no space left. I've read the shoe will give in a little over time, so probably would've been fine for walking, but for running I think a little more space is preferable.
