This special heelcounter (Solarglide has the same) is perfect for people with insertional achilles tendonitis for walking and running! It stops irritating it completely. The secret (sadly not many people know about it) old trick was to cut the heelcounter out of shoes or use shoes without one which often comes at the cost of stability.

Moving really good for a heavy shoe. A lot of us (me) get caught up in shoe weights. The ride of the shoe isn’t always dictated by weight. I wish I could get over it but I’m obsessed with lightness. I admitted it so I guess I can work on it now.

It’s a really smooth type transition shoe. Supremely comfortable upper materials too that were cooler on foot than the peg 38. 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️

I’m running in the Solarboost 19 and also the Clifton 7. Even with 200 more miles on the Solarboost 19, they feel better and more consistent. Very enjoyable for daily training and slightly quicker paces, even with the weight.

@theparalexview7853 жыл бұрын
The 2018 Solar Boost (cryptically dubbed the "M") is very comfy. And a bit lighter as it had less plasticky stuff. The midfoot upper was recycled plastic but resembles softer knit fabric, conforms to the foot, and breathes well. Not a light shoe but very pleasant for easy runs, and faster than it feels. The forefoot upper is breathable but a bit insulated. That version was best in cool weather. If the new Solar Boost is comparable to the 2018 version it'll be a good choice for many folks.

I've loved my Solar Glide 19s (owned 4 pairs now), and those are very similar to the Solarboost 3/Solarglide 3. Compared to the Solar Glide 19, I agree with your statements regarding the midsole. Boost is consistent and lasts a long time! I also feel that the Solar Glide 19 can be used very effectively for long runs, easy runs, and even tempo runs (as you experienced). I'm also a fan of the Continental rubber. Great review and feedback!

Thanks Eddbud, I was one of those keen viewers longing to watch your review of these Solars. My pair have already 260kms, and at least for me the best way to value them is comparing them with its predecessor. Great update, the biggest change is the eva topsole called "energy rails" that give a more stable firm kind of ride. The previous ones are lacking this firmness, too smushy. The LEP system is very exposed though it helps you forward giving you that PUSH. My concern is that it's on the heavier side for me and now with temperatures rising up sooner than later here in Valencia, Spain; makes it harder to rotate these Solars under warmer conditions.🥵 The Bostons 8 with the regular foam on top of the boost do the job better than the new 9's with lightstrike. Adidas needs to come up with a more consistent daily trainer more into the lightweight range, I am dreaming of a lighter Solarboost iteration yet to come. 🤣🙏🏼
@EDDBUD3 жыл бұрын
I agree on the weight, just shave off a little of that and we are really talking a good daily shoe.
@sneakerprofiler3 жыл бұрын
The SolarRide, SolarGlide, SolarBoost and UB are definitely shoes created for average people at non-race pace. BOOST is still heavy though. But loads of non-athletes wear them all day as casual shoes. So are they uncomfortably heavy? I guess it’s subjective. I have experience in the Glide and Ultra. ‘Noticeably heavier than adizero BOOST shoes? Yes. Did the heavier shoes work on an objective level? Yes. Do I prefer the adizero implementation? Yes. ‘Glad to see you take a chance on these. I’m sure you have plenty viewers who aren’t pace and weight focused. Plus it’s much easier to find these shoes discounted or at an outlet for year’round built to last trainers. I say go for Saucony PWRRUN/+ shoes if pace and weight are a consideration though. Their making lighter BOOST at the Two Rivers/Three Stones. Nice one, solebrother. ✌🏽💙🏃🏽♂️

I ran a 10k race in them & almost a pb but that's more fitness. Also ran a HM distance & again felt good. A bit pricey yes @ £140 but I love them. The older Adidas Solar glide was - in my opinion - the single greatest long run shoe ever made - anything over 16 miles. I wouldn't race in it but it was just sublime to trot along in.
