I've used solar boost for my longer runs for years. The 3 are definitely bigger in the toe box but I don't find the weight an issue. Traction is great and you can mix terrain well....in my opinion.
@michaelcolello27352 жыл бұрын
I've been running Lightstrikes since 2020, for longer runs too. Picked up the Solar Boost 4 yesterday, as it was hyped as a long-distance runner and it was the comfiest I tried on. First run was quite disappointing. Yes, nice cushy heel strike, but it felt like running with blocks lashed to my feet. No propulsion. If I forced myself to a sprint the shoes bounced along willingly. But I had to really push to get there. Like Ed says it IS overbuilt, and looks and feels clunky. Yet, despite all the kush, my feet were still sore by run's end. Hopefully my feet adjust to it soon, because this first run was a bummer and now i'm like 'wtf was I thinking.' An expensive lesson.

The heat is a bigger problem when you are not used to it. I still remember my Wings for Life World Run race a few years ago in May when my body still was in winter mode :-)

I think my body is stuck between winter/summer and post COVID jab mode! 🤦🏻♂️🤣

I felt the same way towards the Solar Boost 19. Worked for me perfectly in the 8-12 km range and uptempo pace (in fact i did my 10k PB in them last august), but didn´t like them for 15-25 km easy and slow runs...

Yes I think it’s the mass of the shoe. If you crank up the power it throws you forward but quickly tires me out. 😊👍🏼🏃🏻♂️

I had a pair of Solar Ride last year but returned them due to the weight. Kinda regretted it afterwards.
@mikegamber85613 жыл бұрын
No solarboost 3 for me, I’ve actually found the the On CloudAce to be very good for my long easy pace runs. Weight is same as Ultraboost 21 but feels good on foot once you get going. Great job EDD!
@sneakerprofiler3 жыл бұрын
‘Agree with your assessment. The Solar range feels best fast, but the weight contradicts that urge. The Boston (especially the 9 with the new mesh) is a much more natural distance shoe at a more aggressive or easy pace. I moved from the SolarGlide to the Boston, and I’m very happy with that decision. I retired my adizeroPro at 507km, so the Boston will take its place as 10k option. The B9 is so much more nimble PLUS it’s a little lighter and the heel lock is more assured. I sent you a short update on my final thoughts. ✌🏽💙🏃🏽♂️
@EDDBUD3 жыл бұрын
I still see boston 9 pairs at max price, i think that one will stick around for a while now with the low uptake on the 10. :)
@sneakerprofiler3 жыл бұрын
@@EDDBUD it's difficult to fathom the adizero team actually missed the memo changing the shoe so drastically would ensure its failure. ✌🏽💙🏃🏽♂️

For comfort and cushion, what would you choose: Nike React Miler 2 or these ones?
@folm2353 жыл бұрын
I’m seeing this as a good stable daily shoe for anything under 10k or so. I really need the lockdown (narrow foot) and the somewhat firmer midsole. Cliftons just didn’t work out for me. Looking at that Puma Velocity for rotation.
@LerikMan3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ed, which one would you choose as daily trainer - Endorphin Shift or Solarboost 3 ??? Thanks
@henrikmortensen32853 жыл бұрын
I bought this shoe for long runs and Zone 1 and 2 days. In rotation with Beacon 3. I like the feel of the midsole and the outsole got a really good grip. It feels a little overbuilt and then there are built-in hotspots in the left shoe. not something I asked for ;) Still using it but will not run longer than 8K Would I Buy it again no!

A shoe named solar is all black. It's been summer in Las Vegas for 2 months now and Running in the desert you can't have all black shoes Well you can but your feet will feel like they are on fire🔥 and not in a good way.

I just don’t know about this shoe. Definitely not a long easy day shoe as I found it firmer. Right now I’m using it as a walking shoe because I have other options for the runs I have, like the Pegasus 38 or the Ultraboost PB.

I am very happy with the Solarboost for my daily 8-12km laps 👍🏻. The weight of the shoes does not matter at these distances. I stole the laces of my Hoka OneOne Bondy 7 for these shoes, the upper fits perfectly now 😁
