Supernova Rise: A Stellar Shoe for Everyday Runs
The adidas Supernova Rise is a recent addition to the brand's lineup, and it's quickly gaining popularity among runners of all levels. Designed for everyday training, the Supernova Rise promises a comfortable and stable ride, at least for forefoot strikers, making it a great choice for runners around the world who want to knock out miles without dipping into their higher end daily trainers.
Upper: Comfort is King
The Supernova Rise's upper prioritizes comfort above all else, especially in that PLUSH heel counter. I haven’t seen a plushness heel counter like this since the Saucony’s of 2021. It features a soft and breathable engineered mesh that conforms to your foot like a sock, but lacking in the gusset department, sad day. You know I appreciate a good gusset. The seamless construction minimizes irritation, while the padded tongue and collar add a touch of luxury. Overall this is a simple upper design including the eyelet chain, no major bells and whistles here.
Midsole: Dreamstrike+ Takes Flight
The heart of the Supernova Rise is its Dreamstrike+ midsole. This PEBA-based foam delivers a delightful balance of cushioning and responsiveness. It's soft enough to absorb impact on long runs, yet firm enough to provide a touch of bounce when you pick up the pace. Additionally, the midsole features strategically placed "Support Rods" that promote a smooth and stable transition through each stride. Don’t expect a ton of pop or energy return in this ride, but you will have enough support to make you feel stable. Think the opposite of ‘mushy’ in the Supernova Rise, this is not a soft or mushy under step feel.
Outsole: Grippy and Durable
The Supernova Rise's outsole is made of Adiwear, a durable rubber compound that can handle a variety of surfaces. The outsole features a unique pattern with strategically placed grooves for optimal traction, both on wet and dry roads. Beware at higher paces on sharp corners, I don’t foresee a perfect grip on slick, wet surfaces.
Conclusion: A Stellar Choice for Everyday Runners
Overall, the adidas Supernova Rise is a fantastic everyday running shoe. It offers a comfortable and stable ride, making it perfect for long runs, easy jogs, and even tempo workouts. While it's not the lightest or fastest shoe on the market, it excels in providing a smooth and enjoyable experience for runners of all levels. So, if you're looking for a reliable and comfortable trainer for your daily runs, the Supernova Rise is worth checking out.
Here are some additional points to consider:
• The Supernova Rise is a new option in the Adidas line up
• The shoe retails for $140 USD.
• The shoe is a firmer landing compared to many other shoes on the marketplace
I hope this review has been helpful! If you have any other questions about the Adidas Supernova Rise, please feel free to ask in the comments below. Onward and Upward DGR!

For a super basic daily trainer, that price is insane. Here in Romania, that price is the equivalent of 25% of the minimum monthly salary and about 15% of the medium monthly salary. This shoe is not worth more than 80 dollars, in my opinion. And how I see things, all the running shoes on the market right now are 50% more expensive than they should be.

QD: Current daily trainer is the Saucony Triumph 20 I picked up on sale for $85, and I love that shoe! I’m a bigger, heavier runner, and it’s light, bouncy, compressive, and surprisingly durable as I’ve quickly got over 100 miles in the shoes and are holding up better than the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25. I was interested in the Adidas you’ve reviewed, but it appears the 3 stripe brand still has some work to do for their daily trainers.

QD: I'm running in the Asics Novablast 4. I had the Novablast 3 and it didn't work for me, clunky slow and mushy fast. So didn't have much hope for these but got 30% off retail for the Novablast 4 and said heck why not. Love that they formed it up and feel like it is smooth when slow and picks up speed. Literally just finished 10.33 miles in Novablast 4 and feeling 👍🏾 😊

QOD: My daily right now is the Vomero 17…. And it’s different. I’ve been a Pegasus line runner for daily since the 35 but I think that the vomero is what I wish that Nike would do with the Pegasus. The stability from the lower foam, and the ZoomX on top makes it feel like I can really pick up the pace a little without feeling too much of a difference.

Asics Evoride 2 (880km) / Asics Noosa Tri 14 (400km) - great weight, durability and the rocker geometry is gentle to my Achilles tendon. Looking forward to add Novablast 3 to the rotation for slightly longer and slower runs (got them for ~60Eur)

QD: My go to daily trainer is the Adidas Adios 8. The upper is one of the best I’ve ever worn and always get a great consistent lockdown. The shoe is versatile and is the closest shoe I’ve found to be a modern day Boston 9 replacement. Are you planning on reviewing the Adios 8? Would love to hear your thoughts since a lot of shoetubers don’t really know why that shoe exists in the Adizero line. Also, I believe the rubber outsole on the Supernova Rise is called AdiWear. The Continental rubber is still used is Adidas’ lineup, but on their Adizero line of shoes.

QD: currently the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 as my daily. Picked it up on discount not knowing whether it would fit in as a tempo or daily trainer. Big fan of the speed 1 & 2 as a speed day shoe. In the Speed 3 the upper & midsole seem more relaxed so it fits in as a solid daily trainer that can pick up the pace if need be.

Thus reminded me of my supernova boosts&solar glides. While slightly heavy the Boost always kept form and bounced back. I always logged 650+ Currently in Pegasus 39,40. I like these because the zoom pods seem to mold to my foot as a secondary cushion and also keep the react in shape. *Maybe the Saucony Ride 17 with peba can be that old Boost?

I saw an interview with the Adidas peeps. They basically said the Supernova series is for people who go to the gym once a week and run once a week. That's its purpose. So they are upfront that it isn't for "daily" runners. I love the 3 stripes and will stick to the Adios, TS, and Pro

Can some one explain to me how this shoe at 9 oz got a score of 5 while the On cloud Eclipse at over 10 oz got a score of 9 on the weight category? It's so biased! I just can't trust these reviews anymore! Sorry!
@m.topfer
@m.topfer 4 ай бұрын
It is all about the category of the shoe and what it brings to the table. A minimalist road racing shoe can get bad score for weighting 7oz while very cushioned maximalist shoe with good durability is super light at 9oz. So yes, the categories are not really independent on each other and are partially biased. You can't do it purelly based on weight, otherwise the weight score would just suggest in what category the shoe is (and racing flats would be the highest rated :) )

@@SethJamesDeMoor With a midsole stack height of 37 mm in the heel and 31 mm in the forefoot, I would not call that a maximalist shoe in anyway. The Novabast 4 has a stack height of 41/31, comes in at slightly over 9oz and is considered a daily trainer. I happen to own the On Cloud Ecplise and it is a fine shoe, but way over hyped. It's firm, heavy, and pricy compared to the competition.

Little confused as of why all the adidas reviewed are terrible. They work extremely well on me, while a brand like saucony for example is really not doing it. Picked up the saucony triumph last year for my long run after watching your review and ended giving them away after 2 runs, that’s how underwhelming it was.

This shoe is really interesting in where it fits into the shoe rotation. It doesn’t sound like the greatest all around shoe, but if I could only afford one shoe this might just be a consideration.
