200mi in the Supernova Rise. It still feels great. I STILL wish it was a 6 mm drop!!

do you know how this compares to the Saucony Tempus? It sounds like they have a lot in common.
@its_Matt_B_7 ай бұрын
The Tempus feels a little more peppy than any other stability shoe I’ve tried.
@TolunayOrkun7 ай бұрын
Tempus is a far lighter and agile shoe. These are for easy and recovery days.

How's about the width? I have a wide foot but i have heard they dont offer this in wide sizes....

This shoe is definitely on the narrower side.

Hi Matt, just a heads up when I clicked on the affiliate link for the shoe it goes to the Hoka Mach 6 instead of the Supernova. Not sure if that is supposed to happen or I clicked in the wrong link.

Thanks so much for the heads up! I corrected the link! 👊🏽

What is it with Adidas and 10 mm heel drops on daily trainers?
@its_Matt_B_7 ай бұрын
They’re not alone! 10mm seems to be a very popular drop. With the amount these big companies invest in market research, it seems like a high drop is the most popular drop. 🤷🏻♂️
@MyFatAdaptedLife7 ай бұрын
@@its_Matt_B_ That's unfortunate. What often-injured runners might consider is a gait analysis. During my analysis, the doctor recommended 5mm or less, to prevent injury.
@TolunayOrkun7 ай бұрын
It is old school. Adidas had been traditionally 10mm drop but only recently transitioned to 6mm drop in racing shoes. Given recreational runners are heel landers and have weaker calves this sort of drop covers a large segment. For the same reason Brooks is sticking with 12mm drop in Ghost and Adrenaline.

Yes. The geometry is extremely similar to the Rise!

@@its_Matt_B_ I also just adore Light Strike Pro so hoping we can feel it more in that one.
@TolunayOrkun7 ай бұрын
I talked to my local Adidas rep. and he says it is not a PEBA foam but a version of Lightstrike Pro (blended). Adidas has not publicly stated it is PEBA based in their website and I find it quite unlikely they will use PEBA in a lower end shoe vs their Adizero lineup. I also don't see the point of using PEBA in such a heavy shoe. If there is any PEBA in this shoe, it is neutralized with all the other design elements. Would I buy this shoe (or Rise)? Yes, but only for casual use and if I find them on discount. They look good and comfortable for daily use. I ran my first marathon in Supernova Boost 2017 (Successor to Supernova Glide 8) and I would still pick that shoe over the current Rise or Solution.
@its_Matt_B_7 ай бұрын
It seems the copy has been changed since the Supernova Rise (and Deamstrike +) was first announced. I could only find Running Warehouse that lists DreamStrike + as a PEBA based foam. It was everywhere when they first announced it.

@@its_Matt_B_ You work with Road Runner Sports and their description for SuperNova Rise says this: "Men's adidas® Supernova Rise :: Like running through the cosmos! Your new Men's adidas Supernova Rise running shoe features Dreamstrike+ cushion that's a 20% biobased, slightly denser version of the Lightstrike Pro - giving you elevated cushion while delivering fast forward energy return." They put similar description for Supernova Solution.

Is it a worthy success of the Adidas SolarGlide 6 ? At least this SuperNova Solution is a bit less heavy , but I wonder it will be as durable , fun to use in very long runs and have the same grip for rainy days of the SolarGlide 6 !

Would these be ok as a long run shoe? Can’t decide between these and the Rise. Have never used or (apparently) needed a stability shoe but get some arch pain toward the end of long runs so wondering if I should give some stability a go. If the Rise are softer and lighter though, they might be a better option for long runs. Currently do most runs in Boston 12
@its_Matt_B_7 ай бұрын
These would work well for longer runs and I don't think the stability elements are immediately noticeable unless you run back-to-back in another pair of non-stability shoes. I would definitely chose these (or the rise) for a easy long run over the Boston 12.
