Good point about the crease. It caused too much pain at the top of the foot for both my son and I to use. I recommend that if you buy them online, return them if they cause that pain at the crease. All feet are different so many probably won't have an issue with these. But, we even tried wearing them for a week to allow for break in time. Didn't help. Return them before you scuff them up if the crease bothers you from the get go.

the crease definitely hurts at the beginning but 2 weeks of break in + a bit of hairdryer heat (with bending) helps. i have 3 pairs of ubersonics and they are very comfortable after.

Good review. I have now worn these for around 10 hours of comp play , and overall I think they are great shoes, but for me there is one bad issue. That is the tongue of the shoe is too thin and has no padding. I find that the laces at the end where you tie them up cut into the circulation of my foot, and after a couple of hours of play it is very noticeable and the skin of this area of my foot and ankle is very irritated . I wear orthotics in my shoe and this probably lifts my foot slightly in the shoe which emphasizes this issue.

@The Tennis Mentor Thank you, Ashley. :) Your videos look and sound really good! I don't know if you would be interested in doing a video where you discuss the camera and recording set-up that you're using. ..but for smaller YT content creators, like myself, it would be really interesting to learn more about this. I have a pair of the Nike Cage 2 tennis shoes in the same colorway as the ones that you have in this video. In my opinion, they are the best pair of shoes that Nike has made. At least in recent years. The support in the Cage 2s is very good and they also fit slightly wider. Which is perfect for me. :) Unfortunately, Nike isn't making the Cage 2s anymore. And the newer models (Cage 3 and Vapor Cage 4) are very hard on people with wider feet. Would you say that the Ubersonic 4s would be good for someone with a wider foot?

@ralves13943 жыл бұрын
Hi! You continue with great quality in your videos, congratulations! Usually, I prefer game analysis videos but as I´mm for almost one month in lockdown, this variety of content you have presented is perfect. Regarding Ubersonic I had the 2 previous models and honestly I didn't like it very much, I didn't find them comfortable they were too stiff for my taste. These look better but have something I would like to ask you ... is the tongue comfortable? Last year I bought the NB LAV FRESH FOAM which have the same tongue system (sock type), felt very elastic and not at all comfortable and were very warm, one hour in court and my feet were burning :) I've been to buy your solecourt boost several times but I never did it because I was always afraid that I would find them too heavy. Just out of curiosity, I am currently using the Mizuno Wave Exceed Tour 4 (for me the most surprising!) and Yonex ECLIPSION 3 (very stable but also not very comfortable) for HC and Adidas SOLEMATCH BOUNCE for Clay. Thanks!
@TheTennisMentor3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, right now we’re in lockdown too so I’ve been unable to make any game analysis videos... hopefully soon 🤞 For me, the sock is very comfortable, I haven’t played in the Ubersonic 3’s, but I’ve heard that these weren’t as supportive as the 2’s. These feel snug on my foot and hold well. The tongue/sock is comfortable for me and although I only played for 30 minutes (in freezing conditions) I could tell they were breathable so your feet shouldn’t get too hot. I’ve not tried the NBs or Mizuno’s that you wear so can’t compare. I was a big fan of the sole courts, very comfortable with nice cushioning, I didn’t think they were that heavy... until comparing with these 😂 The lighter Ubersonics will definitely make a difference to speed!

Great review. I’ve watched quite a few on the U4. Given you’re a SoleCourt Boost wearer would you swap them for these? I found the SCBs too heavy and wide for me, but love the U2’s. I quite liked the U3 but definitely prefer the slim fit of the U2’s. Which of those original shoes comes closest to fit would you say? I’m surprised you liked the U4s as you’ve got wide feet. Thanks for the video!
@TheTennisMentor3 жыл бұрын
Hey Martin, thanks! Me too! The SCB’s definitely suit the shape of my feet better but the U4s are still comfortable! Once I’m back on court (we’re still in lockdown in the UK) I’ll experiment with them. Wearing them on court for 8 hours will tell me the answer straight away! I’ve got a feeling the weight of the Ubersonics is going to be great when I’m on my feet all day! I haven’t played in the 3’s so I can’t compare, but from memory I had the U2’s in the same size as these and they fit very similar! I hope this answers your questions?
@martinwright3883 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ashley. Appreciate the answer. I’m seeing mixed reviews on the comparison to the U2’s, maybe I’ll end up finding out for myself at some point! After trying a few I thought I’d found my dream shoe with the 2’s not that long ago, so I’m sad to see it go. I’m also in the UK, now optimistic about getting back out on court soon! Cheers. I’ll maybe check back to see how you feel after a good run out in them!

@@martinwright388 have you seen The Tennis Pro Doc’s channel? He goes into a lot more detail in his reviews than I ever could (he is a foot doctor)... I’m sure his ubersonic review compares it to the 2 and 3?
@martinwright3883 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ashley. Yes, I’ve watched his videos, he does suggest it comes close to the U2’s. A few seem to contradict that view (although he clearly knows his stuff). I find it interesting that many of the pros that wear U2’s haven’t changed to the 4’s. Zverev being the notable one. Maybe they need a little time to adopt them!

Thanks! Which would you say are more comfortable/cushiony: Ubersonic 4 or Solecourt Boost?
@TheTennisMentor3 жыл бұрын
If you’re after cushioning, then sole court boosts are great for that, they’re both comfortable, I’d say SCB’s are more comfortable for the wider foot whereas the Ubersonics have a more traditional fit.

Hi: Thanks for the video!! I play with the zoom vapor 9.5 and I want to try the ubersonic IV. Do you recommend me to try them with a bigger size or with my regular size (the same that I use with the zoom vapor 9.5)?
@TheTennisMentor3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching. This is difficult to answer as everyone’s fit is different… the reason I go up half a size is that I have wide feet. The length of the Ubers would be fine, they just come up a little narrow for me. If you have narrow feet you could probably stay with your regular size, but if they’re wide, I’d go up half!

It was painful for me to use this pair of shoes. The lining along the laces that causes the crease, would pinch down onto the bone of my big toe. Perhaps it iss because my foot is wide.

Nice video! I stumbled across your video because I was looking up anything on the Ubersonic 4’s because they have caught my interest. I did have a pair of the SoleCourt Boost Parley, but no longer, I currently have a pair of SoleMatch Bounce, and the ASICS Court FF Novak shoes. I really like the Asics Novak shoe, but I am also an Adidas lover too. The SoleMatch Bounce shoes are decent, I have them in a 10.5 and when lunging forward and then stopping abruptly my foot sometimes slides forward and my toes get jammed up at the front of the shoe causing some slight discomfort, due to this should I get a size 11 in the Ubersonic 4’s you think? Great video! You just got another subscriber :) Cheers
@TheTennisMentor3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the info! Do you have wide, or narrow feet? And how did you find the SoleCourt boosts?
@level27xrock3 жыл бұрын
@@TheTennisMentor I believe I have narrow feet. I did like the fit of the SoleCourt boosts, I had gotten those in a 10.5 as well, and my feet felt more or less the same as in the SoleMatch’s I have now, enough room width wise and length wise, but I had the same issue in the SoleCourt’s where if I had to lunge forward with some force and then stop to change direction my toes would rub up at the top of the shoe and my big toe would get jammed a bit. My Asics Court Novak shoes are in a size 11 and I don’t have this issue. Since the Ubersonic 4’s are a mono sock type construction like the Court Novak shoes, these kind of shoes tend to be a bit more snug in my previous experiences, I am wondering if they compare similarly to the same fit as the SoleCourt or SoleMatch or if they are a bit more snug than those and should size up .5

play on hard court, play a full match. They leave bruises in X's on the tops of feet just like the 3's. paper thin tongue not good enough for the pros, not good enough for me. Buy the Ubersonic 2's while you still can! It's a ninja/ballerina/rock-climber shoe; there is nothing else quite like them. Sad to see Adidas mess this line up once again after the continued success of the 2's.
