Edd what separates you from other unmentioned reviewers is that you will actually show the positives of a shoe and who it could be a good fit for rather than just going on as to why it’s not as good as the some super shoe which is my pet peeve. While this shoe wouldn’t work for me personally it’s good to know who it would work for what positives there are for the shoe. 👍

Great upload. The lace “cage” changes seem to be athleticomfort related. Interesting. The upper changes are smart… no more tongue rollover with the name padded tab, and it’s good to see stretch improvements to the recycled materials. I belief this is the “green” version of pk 360 debuted on UB19. I still see people running in UB and SolarBoost. Credit to adidas for not completely abandoning the midsole magic stuff. Relatively small tweaks as was the case between’19 and ‘20. I’ll try it when I can pick them up at a deep discount. ✌🏽💙🏃🏽♂️

Addidas are still pitching the 21’s at $180 in the US and they don’t seem to be moving very many at that cost. I had been wanting to try this shoe for a long time. Even though just by looking at the shoe with its bulbus heel with the huge quantity of midsole material and plastic, the plastic midfoot cage and the weight, I heard so many good things about the boost material I gave them a shot. First off, I could not understand the design, the shoe is designed to have the runner hit the forefoot and that being the case, why did they load up the boost material on the heel (aesthetically speaking I think it looks weird) so much? The other item was the boost material itself. I found it very, uneventful. Not remarkable and not terrible but just ehhh, ok. For the price of the shoe 189 dollars US, I decided to return them. I could find nothing about this shoe that would redeem the cost of the shoe. I could find similar rides in several shoes under 100 dollars. I did hear two things about this model and perhaps thats why my first and only experience with boost was non-eventful. 1. That the recipe for the boost material in the model 22 was different (just my luck) than previous recipes. That it was a boost version that would deliver a firmer ride. 2. That this shoe was designed deliberatly by an all female engineering team. A shoe for women that was engineered by women catering to specific female needs. So Im not sure if either of those two things are true, but would explain a lot of why my first boost experience fell short.

@EDDBUD2 жыл бұрын
How can you compare those two shoes?! Completely different setup and use case.
@BJM34972 жыл бұрын
Are they? The average consumer perusing the Adidas website wouldn’t know this. Point is the adidas website advertised then as running shoes and they are equivalently priced as the Peg Turbos when Nike were still making the Peg Turbo’s. So yes, comparisons are possible. The fact that a small percent of runners have interval periods and slow days and race days with specific shoes worn for such specific occasions is not the norm. Most folk just go run a certain distance on a daily or weekly basis. So they are comparable. On that basis, the Ultraboost fail completely, at least as far as I am concerned.

Boost is dead (at least for running) … Lightstrike Pro is the next phase for adidas running. Wish adidas made an everyday trainer with full-length Lightstrike pro. Otherwise… I'll settle for th Takumi Sen 8 and Adios Pro 2 combo.

@@EDDBUD To each his own. At the end of the day, if the shoe makes you want to run more, then its an effective shoe. Boost for you. ZoomX invincibles for me. We are all runners. Respect.

I’m not sure how anyone can run in the Ultraboost. I got the 1st & 2nd versions. Because that was when boost was the greatest material ever invented to run on. And I had the Adios & Boston for faster runs. The shoe was a brick back then. There’s just so many better options these days. Even back then it was the worst Adidas option on the market.

Top initial review Edd. 👍 As always Boost continues to go on and is still one of the most comfortable foams for the long haul. Glad to hear the subtle changes applied are making it more comfortable. Please let us know if the ride is softer than the UB 21. 🏃♂️
@EDDBUD2 жыл бұрын
Feels about the same. But the ride is nice and smooth. Didn’t feel all that weighty to be honest.
@tazpengra2 жыл бұрын
Yet once again, why are Adidas shoes so heavy?
@EDDBUD2 жыл бұрын
Not all of them. Goes to show that the heavier than next% Adios pro 2 is beating it in races. So it’s about the runner not the shoes.
@tazpengra2 жыл бұрын
@@EDDBUD As with bicycle wheels, it may be a product of WHERE the weight is. If the outsole is the heavy part of the shoe, it will run heavier because it is further from the center of rotation. If the upper is the heavy part, it should run with a lighter feel. But, with all the other companies developing shoes that are 50+ grams lighter for the same stack or more, I keep wondering why Adidas can't do the same thing.
