Being a former high school wrestler, I know what kind of dedication this takes. I wish I found this vid sometime before wrestling ended. My coach taught me some shit about wrestling, and I still remember it to this day. I wasn't the best wrestler, I wasn't even that good, I really only did it to keep me in shape for XC and track, but I loved every minute of my two seasons. It also helped me lose a lot of weight. It helped me drop 30 lbs. from 200 to 170 lbs. Do not regret this sport.

Wrestler's like me and i bet most of you know its all about where you're heart and mind is at. The running, off-season, shots, drills, and dieting comes down to 6 minutes on the mat or more for 1 day. It's the hardest sport and the sport that requires more work, effort, and heart than any other.

If you wear compression pants in a match like the one kid in this video, then you kinda deserve to lose lmao

nothing wrong with compression pants, especially with football and wrestling. It looks better than a pair of boxers underneath your singlet getting all bunched up and looking bad.

Wrestled 12 season, did it year round a couple of years too. Don't miss the dieting and shedding weight, but man do I miss that competition. Pushing each other to edge. Training harder than ever to beat that guy who beat you by 1 or 2 points the last time you met. No sport builds character like wrestling. A loss means one thing, you didn't train hard enough. Blame the ref all you want, you should never put the match in his hands.

This is so accurate. Growing up, I struggled with finding a hobby that I was truly passionate about. I tried tennis, basketball, and more, but nothing ever felt right. When I first tried wrestling, I knew that I found my place. It became more than a school sport, but a lifestyle. There is NOTHING like it. When you win, especially by pin, you feel fearless. When you lose, it's hard, because you know it's no one else's fault but yourself. Regardless, I am a proud to be a female wrestler.

Man I love this video. So true how they portrayed winning and losing. Every wrestler knows that winning a match makes you feel like your invincible and losing like you are the most worthless person in the world. Especially when everybody builds you up right before a match saying stuff like "you can beat this kid" or "he's nothing compared to you" then you know you let them down. thats why I tell everyone I know to never talk about the match until its over.

Top MMA fighters cry after losing. It's not a sign of weakness. To train hard (wrestling/MMA hard, not ball tossing hard) and have your ass handed to you destroys your soul. Non-wrestlers wouldn't understand. I haven't cried myself, but I don't judge others who do because I get it.

@Totalpartyhaus10 жыл бұрын
crondigady in wrestling you may train as a team and work out as a team but, on match day it's just you and it comes down to how you prepare yourself mentally. You put all the pressure on yourself because when you lose you can't blame anyone else. That is also the reason losing hurts and motivates that much more because theirs no other outlet to push them.

Wrestling is an amazing sport. All others "sports" are really just games. Wrestling takes everything you got. Makes you train all your body. And unlike other sports espiecally in high school, there is no off season. I am a freshman wrestler. And I have been trainer harder than any freshman in my grade. But my coach talks about being humble, so I always keep it to myself. But some other freshamnthat did wrestling just for one year I see brag about it in the halls. How they trained really hard. But I just let them lie to themselves. Because I know that I am training for a Perpose. My school is Oak Park River Forest IL, coached by Mike Powell. And the wrestling program really well know. And really Appreciated. So I'm glad that we are actually noticed. Because it is rare in school. The sports that always overshadow it are basketball and Football. When I found out that wrestling was being put up for review again in 2020, I was heartbroken. You can't take a sport that has been in the olympics since it was created out. That will like takin a vital organ out of a body.

Every damn day I would starve myself to make weight, only eating 1 meal a day, a salad, and for what? For that win. For win after that win. To me food was a sacrifice I made to win. My body ached every damn day, from practice and malnourishment. Everyday my emotions were everywhere, I was always cold, but the burning desire to be the best kept me warm.It was all worth it. I fell in love with wrestling my first season because I found out that it didn't only teach me a sport, it taught my a lifestyle, a hard as hell lifestyle, and it made me a better person. It made me strong, physically, mentally, emotionally. It made me more sympathetic, it made me compassionate, and it made me be happy for the things I have, and ESPECIALLY, the food I have.

I missed to a kid today whom I beat at sectionals and that make me so mad I hit the security guard luckily he kept me in and I wrestled a 2x district champ and state qualifier for third place and was down 9 to 3 and pinned him with 1:13

I did terribly at my third judo competition-that and my second were open grade so I was fighting black belts and had to fight 5- I 'gave' them the throws as I didn't want to get broken as the only guy I thought I could beat was in the 3rd match :( Is wrestling easier to compete in? I've seems less restrictive. I've been doing it for around 2 months now but i'm a wimp about getting hurt. Any tips?

wrestling is the only sport that I do know because it's the most challenging cutting weight is a big thing and if you rage like that your not getting the point of being on a team you need to learn more from a loss and train harder just never stop wrestling

The best thing about wrestling is it is individual. You don't have to pass a ball to another teammate or rely on anybody else to win. The only person you rely on to win is yourself.

When people think about Wrestling all they think about is two guys "hugging eachother trying to take eachother down. Unless you're affiliated with Wrestling you don't know the strength/endurance it takes to last 6 minutes. Losing in Football or Basketball is nothing like Wrestling, in those sports you can blame the team, in Wrestling no one to blame and you must accept someone was better then you. Being a Wrestler sets you up for the difficulties you endure in life.
