Quick question do you think its ever a good idea to choose to be a single parent and take on the responsibility by youself? artofkickz.com/collections/dizzle-drizzle-collection mentalhealth2011.com/ instagram.com/thequeenofaccountability/ instagram.com/artofkickz/

I think it depends on the situation. I believe a child needs both parents, but if one of them is toxic, or otherwise not doing the job, then they don't need to be there, and are going to end up a bad influence to the child. If nothing can be rectified, then as a last resort, so mote it be. If ones hand is forced, what else is there to do, if all else is exhausted? I basically saw it happen in real time with two of my friends, and the impact on the kid, I was nearly blind to it, and my attempts to help fell to the fathers deaf ears,

My ex tried it, destroyed our kids. Eldest tried to self delete, walked past mom's bedroom and disappeared into the night. Me, 11 miles away did what I had to do to get her found, just in time before expiry. It didn't warrant a "thank you" from mother.

In extreme cases where the other parent is some sort of danger or even not present then you'll have to 'single parent'. Otherwise, both parents being involved (and at least civil to each other) is better. Best is both parents together, but that is not the majority anymore. Sadly.

I believe in God's plan. There is a reason God made it ONLY possible to create a child with both sexes. If a person finds themselves without the other parent, God will guide you through the challenges, and hopefully we start raising children in his grace and light.

I agree. Men don't demand anyone to wish him both a Happy Mother's Day and a Happy Father's Day, so why should any woman demand anyone to wish her both a Happy Mother's Day and a Happy Father's Day? Men have the role of the father and women the mother. In addition, men don't demand gifts for Father's Day, unlike women on Mother's Day or any other day or holidays.

Happy blessed belated Father's Day to all the men. I never liked people saying Happy Father's Day to me. It really gets on my nerves. My husband got the biggest Father's Day, surprised by his life. I always listen to him even though I get on his nerves sometimes..lol. There was something that he wanted so I secretly ordered it for him and gave it to him and cooked him dinner since he had to work. He loved it, and so did his children. We are a blended family. He is always there for me, and I really appreciate him so much. I pray that everyone has a blessed day.

Daphne, and you, are doing the Lord's work. By the way, happy late Fathers Day to all the dads here. You are so important to your kids - just as important as their mother. Hope you had a wonderful day. I want to add that I'm a mother of 5 kids - they're all married now and have given their father and I 16 grandbabies to love. We divorced when our kids were in high school, and he very quickly remarried. I have been alone for the last 12 years since the divorce, but there are no hard feelings. My boys would NOT be the incredible men they are today if they didn't have a strong, intelligent, fantastic dad who taught them how to be a gentleman, how to work hard, how to prioritize, and how to love. My girls would not be the strong, independent, gracious women they are today if they didn't have a father who showed them their worth - who spent one on one time with them - stroked their hair at night as he read them bedtime stories - who treasured them and loved on them. So no - I can't fathom, just because I'm a single mom and gma now - not giving my kids' dad the credit he so much deserves.

@@willgee.1483 so this comment - well, me just now seeing this comment - is right on time. You have no idea. I was invited to the huge family wedding week with the entire family on my ex husband’s side over in Idaho (we’re in Wa state), and I declined so I could dog and housesit for our daughter and her hubby & 4 kids while they went. I’m feeling pretty down with a lotta fomo 🥹 But these kinds of sacrifices are a part of what builds a lasting legacy of service, faithfulness, and dedication for my loved ones as the years go by. Their dog is under a year old and they were very worried about leaving him. (I’m actually really allergic to him 🫣😵‍💫) Anyway, thank you again for a really kind comment. I appreciate it so much.

My mother was a real one! As a GenXer, I grew up hearing a lot of baby boomers who were single mothers say they celebrate Father's Day, too. I remember my teacher wanting us to create cards for our fathers, but my father wasn't in my life, so I made one for my mom, thinking she would appreciate it. My mother was highly upset with me, but she explained that being a single mother doesn't make a father. She said that she doesn't take on more of a responsibility just because my father wasn't there. She would have to raise me regardless. To her Father's Day was for fathers only. She told me to make cards for those men in my life who are fathers, not her. When I grew up and had my first born I understood and never celebrated Father's Day and dislike when I hear women claim that day for themselves. As a widow, I find it even more offensive because my sons lost their father, and claiming Father's Day as my own would be disrespectful to the wonderful father that he was when he was alive.
