Curious I've been shopping for a handheld and I think I'm just going to buy a steam deck. There a reason you even wanted this device? Is it because of the size vs the steam deck?
@johnsducks981621 күн бұрын
@chaoticzer0 actually more so the screen than anything I dont have a deck oled and I really like how dim the screen gets on this for late night before bed. Honestly if u just want 1 handheld go with the deck i think its great to have one pc handheld and one smaller handheld like this
@chaoticzer021 күн бұрын
@ ahh ok cool. Think I'll go that route for sure now
@toasty400000021 күн бұрын
@@chaoticzer0 Steam deck is BIG AF... I love it, but I honestly rarely use mine now. When I got it, I was bringing it everywhere... it was a honeymoon phase lol. It's still wonderful, a beast, but it's simply SO EFFING BIG. It all comes down to what you want to do. If you want to play PC games, you really don't have a choice. However, I started thinking after a while "do I ACTUALLY want to play PC games on the go?..." And, yes, I do, but at what cost? I can have a Anbernic RG35XXSP in my pocket all the time, or this Retroid 5 in a small case, or my STEAM DECK taking up 20% of my suit case on a trip... And let me tell you, it's SO much easier to bust an SP or anything smaller out when you're waiting on a plane or a bus or an oil change or whatever than it is to bust out a steam deck. Bringing a steam deck somewhere is a COMMITMENT. Bringing a Miyoo mini or something isn't even a decision - you just do it because there's literally no reason not to. However, you pay for that in the amount of power/types of games it can run. I personally think the retroid 5 is a wonderful spot where, if you really want to have some nice gaming with you when you go somewhere, you can for a small commitment bring a really nice device that will give you up to PS2 and gamecube. Accompany it with a small pocket-every-day device like a miyoo mini and all of a sudden you're gaming whenever you want without a care in the world.

@TomasSchertel gosh I don't know. Just a relatively fast card. It doesn't have to be one of the very expensive ones.

What do you think about D1100 vs SNAPDRAGON 865 CHIPSET PERFORMANCE?
@adinwalls20 күн бұрын
There's not a massive performance jump BUT with the Turnip drivers and the general improved compatibility, it's actually a pretty big difference practically

Oh gosh I have no idea! You'd just have to check what chipset they're using and see if there's any emulation info on that chip

Hey Adin, just watched the video and overall I thought it was pretty informative. I did want to mention something about your comment regarding the difficulty of setting up Retroids. I get that it might be more involved than some KZbinrs let on, but saying that you "categorically know" it's a mission and seemingly calling out a another content creator feels a bit dismissive. I think this is more of a subjective matter than objective and I don't want to see you get into any drama. Wanted to write this up because you've said similar things in the past and I am concern it might alienate not only your audience but other retro handheld reviewers.
@adinwalls20 күн бұрын
Hey there. I disagree. For me this is a pretty straightforward fact rather than a subjective issue. Setting Android up manually without the system that Anbernic have set it place (which is also flawed) is always difficult and time consuming and I feel I owe it to viewers to point that out. Maybe you can change my mind, but I get regular comments from disillusioned new owners who thought the setup process would be way easier. Some people even send their devices back or sell them. These are the people I have in mind when saying this. Also, I never called the content creator out by name.

@@adinwalls I feel like the way it was phrased, contrasting it with another KZbinr's experience, could potentially come across as a bit of a call-out, even if unintentional. This is the internet after all and people will connect the dots. They're gonna find who you are talking about or who they think you're talking about. If that is your intention, I think you should voice your feedback directly to them. Maybe you could draw comparison to devices that provide an easier setup to show your point rather than a call-out. Just some friendly feedback! Keep up the awesome work.

@MetroUI I am currently working on a replacement video to my Retroid pocket 4 Pro setup guide.
@dylansanchez734615 күн бұрын
@@MetroUI The guy who he's calling out is RetroGameCorps... which is stupid because RetroGameCorps goes through the entire process of setting up. Regardless if he said it was not difficult, he left enough information for the viewers to make an inform decision.
