Thanks for sharing this, your explanation is much clearer than Sako's instructions!

I found the trigger in my sako 85 243 w to heavy and ended up replacing it with a Bix-n and Andy competition because i couldn't get it light enough

Thats good! When I eject, the shoulder of the cartridge gets dented on my windage turret. I'm wondering if the tolerance between the bolt face and extractor claw needs to be a little bit tighter.

I have a set trigger on my 85. does it influence that also? I don't want the light setting getting lighter. the normal trigger setting i find to heavy but i am reluctant to change it because it is a set trigger.

Have you ever have ejected cartridges hit your scope? I have a Finnlight chambered in a 300 win mag with a vortex razor mounted on it using one piece optilock rings and the ejected cartridges hit the scope every time. Just wondering I thought it looked like you had a similar set up.

How come no lower than 2 lbs? Is this a mechanical or a safety issue while hunting? Thanks for the clear instructions on adjustment!
@outdoorquesttv99465 жыл бұрын
In a hunting situation it can be unsafe...for target going lower is not an issue.

It can be both a mechanical issue, and a safety issue. The mechanical aspect is that a trigger spring has an allowable range of adjustment, and below a certain 'spring preload', trigger pull can become inconsistent. Most factory triggers aren't going to be adjustable below around a 2 to 2 1/2 pound pull weight. Sometimes a different weight spring can be installed in a factory trigger, but selecting the correct one and installing one isn't necessarily a task for the typical owner. The safety issue (for hunting), is that light trigger could potentially result in an unintentional discharge if the rifle were dropped. When hunting, walking around & climbing over things with a rifle, the potential to drop the rifle is much greater than for a target shooter who's rifle tends to be more stationary.

Do you need to to use snap caps? I've always been told dry firing is not good for the gun?
@Gaumik-c2l4 жыл бұрын
Only on a rimfire gun because the firing pin hits the steel of the chamber

How many turns/rotations did I you do to reduce it from 2-14 to 2-6 ?
@outdoorquesttv99466 жыл бұрын
It will depend on the rifle. You really need a gauge to tell.
