No problem, we thought the same thing. Opinions can change over time and it is nice to know how things stand up to the test of time. I think we will infrequently do more update videos as it makes sense (we don't like putting out videos for things we consider "non-content"). With that said, I have modified the tarp system a bit for tenting it up for winter climbing and will probably need to do some repairs to the tarp when the weather is nicer, so that might give permission for another video. Hey Dude, i somehow just wanted to thank you for your Inspiration. Leaving a message on your Webside was not possible. Anyway. As building my own home Wall i took your Concept and adaptet it so it could fit in my place. We made a computer design as well and thankt to your Prework we could save an enormous amound of time. All went out really well and just todax I could enjoy my first Session on the Board. Love the snaps idea for the tarp!! I am 100% stealing that idea for my outdoor free standing wall. Great stuff!!

Steal away! My only advice would be to make sure the tarp you use is a heavy duty one or you fold the edge over and double it when you rivet in the snap buttons to make sure they dont tear through and space them out like a foot or less so there arent any spots where a single snap is taking all the forces of the wind and again will likely tear out. Awesome dude! Good luck, hope it turns out great. I have also a few 3d holds I'm experimenting with, trying to figure out the best method to get decent texture. So far I still prefer foam shaping method from my other videos for texture, but the idea of being able to print 3d holds is definitely awesome and hopefully the way to go in the future. Feel free to share how yours turn out, would love to know.

@@SendStory threw it together today. $225 in lumber, drill bits, and bolts/screws. Modeling it up in fusion was the best idea, made making a materials list super easy. Painting it tomorrow and then it’ll be complete. I’ll make a video and tag you.

With the tarp up, it looks like such a fun backyard camping tent. You don't even need sleeping pads because the crash mats are already soft! Also happy birthday and my next video will also have a quarantine shaving sequence haha.

Nice job on the wall, it's given me plenty of good ideas. Maybe another user friendly addition could be wheels on the legs. Call Bubbles to grab a spare shopping cart for you.

Haha. I think the wheels are a great idea though, I think they would have to be the same ones that you use on shop tables that you can flip up when not in use so the legs contact the floor, and then flip them back down when you are moving them again. Even better if they had break/resistors on them so you could control the rate that they rolled. Pretty sweet idea. If I ever move the wall/rework it/rebuild it, I probably will try something like this out. Thanks for the comment/idea!

I was planning on building a home wall when this semester ended, and then my truck broke down. so now I have to fix it instead. but when I do eventually build a wall, I'll be taking a lot of inspiration from your build. I really like the design you've come up with, but it'll take me some time to figure out how to adapt a cable-adjusting system to a stand-alone wall. Have you come up with any ideas for a system like that over the years since you built this?

Awesome wall, very inspiring! Your videos helped me get started on mine so it’s cool to see what you did and like about it. How long does it take you to set the whole thing with a few fun problems and then the fill in?

It seriously makes us super happy that we helped you get going on your wall! Honestly, the first time around we set it pretty quickly. I think the first session was a few hours and we had around 4+ problems. Then we set a few more the next time we climbed and we played around on those problems and made up multi-coloured problems with what was there for a week or two before just filling in other spaces with holds. This time around we were a bit slower, mainly because we have been trying to film it, so it really isnt a great indicator, but maybe in that video (whenever I get around to posting it) you will get some more insights. I feel like a 3-1 rope system with a solid anchor to tie off to would be soooo much easier to adjust the wall

Yea, I completely agree. There are some nice variations people have made of this wall now that use a pulley or winch and have chains to clip into for a backup. Unfortunately this place was a rental and I wasn't comfortable drilling into the brick. If I ever renovate it at my current place (I have since moved, and brought the wall with me - have a video about reassembling it), I might look at redesigning it. What is the most you can raise it to? (10 degrees, 5, 0?)

We designed it to be able to go up to 15 degrees, but we haven't actually set it to that angle as of yet. So far just 45, 35, and 25. Based on how it is at 25, I am pretty certain 15 should be fine. With that said, we have a ledge at the back of the kickboard where we can add weight if need be (there is an image of it on our site linked in the description) - I think at 15 we might want to have some blocks on that to make sure it isn't top heavy in a strong wind. I feel like anything more than 15 degrees would start to loose the stability the A-frame provides. I hope that helps!

Canada. I assume you are in Fahrenheit? A legacy of the British, along with some spelling of words and some other quirks. Oddly enough, I use Fahrenheit for water temperature in pools and such, probably influenced by vacationing down south throughout my life, haha.
