Adjusting Belarus 420/t40a transmission clutch fingers

Little late for you I know but the manual for this model which I also have states, "...to ensure proper operation of the clutch, check the free play of the pedals every 240 hrs and adjust, if necessary. Normally the free play of pedals should be 35 - 55 mm, while the travel 70 -90 mm. The adjustment of the clutch consists in restoring the clearance between the ends of the release levers and yoke thrust bearings, which should be 4 mm. Adjust the clutch in case the pedal free play has decreased to 25 mm in one of two ways: - by the clutch control rod or by the adjusting or pressure bolts..." "... the difference in adjustment of the levers should not exceed 0.8 mm" ... Hope that helps

Jonathan, I am looking at buying a 420 but the owner tells me it has clutch or gearbox issues. it runs good but will not move. What should I be looking for?

Will it shift into gear at all? There is a procedure to adjust the main clutch, the distance of 3 fingers to the bearing might be out of spec. I know on mine, when these fingers are out of adjustment it wont shift into gear. Drain the oil from the gearbox and see what it looks like. The main clutch is a single friction disc.

@@jonathantarrant2449 I have the same issue with my 420 AN BELARUS tractor HELP PLEASE, PLEASE we have jack up the rear tires it wants go in gear ⚙ we been working on it for three day doing a lot of change and put new lines etc..
