Why I had to re adjust the rear spring load and a piece of broken plastic and screw that I have no idea where it came from..;(

So the lower the perch the bouncier the ride? Higher up (like you did in this video) stiffens it up? My bike rides about as stiff as a shopping cart and am hoping to soften it up a little.

Yes Johnny you're correct, but also depends on how old is that shock (worn) and how is the bike loaded (preload). Don't forget to check tires and front forks, you might be surprised what worn front forks(oil) can do to the overall feel. Good luck brother and sorry for the late reply.

I actually flushed the front forks after and now waiting to see if it improve the ride

@@HomeGrownPyro1 if you're asking about the front forks oil change it did help a lot.

What is the recommended setting for a rider around 350-400lbs?

And I thought im heavy at 200lbs wet and after a good meal. I would set at the lowest perch and go with the heaviest fork oil available but again it all depends on your riding preference.

Thanks. Mine feels the opposite. Pickup bike from tire change and it feels away too hard. Like i had no shock in it.😅

Check both your tire pressure and if it checks out ok then I would take a look to see where the spring's perch is set at. Good luck

Mine is unfortunately the otherway around so attempting that, the pliers hit against the frame before a full rotation

Once you get a good grip just turn the direction you want and it should stay put while you get the pipe wrench readjusted to complete the turn(like in video) and it'll snap in place. Good luck

Ain't that the truth lol but really I've had bad luck with drying out pivoting points and electrical problems so now when she does get a bath I try to go easy on her;) haha

Any tips for how to jack the bike up? I need to adjust my pre-load, but the paddock stand I have will not fit the Intruder.
@zukins5003
@zukins5003 2 жыл бұрын
You can use a car sissor jack if available and just lift the rear right side of the bike (find a spot where its solid) make sure its stable and kickstand is down before trying to twist the perch (a helper would be helpful to keep bike from falling) but of course a centerstand would be best. If all else fail then remove cover and have it all ready to go and ride to a bike shop:) good luck

I adjusted mine with bare hands and no jack. I'm 205lbs and can't Ride with passenger because of bottoming out on bumps? Any tips would be highly appreciated

@@jesseskinwalker7626 yes bare hand and no jack can work but I wouldn't recommend, mine is also bottoming out over mumps but because there is a rubber bump stop I wouldn't worry so much.
